Well, when I made my last post about 2.3, it seems I was misinformed.

2.3 will be up on the PTR for quite some time. Several classes are likely to get more changes before 2.3 goes live, it's just a question of which changes (ie: we're still considering the mortal strike effect for aimed shot for hunters, among other possibilities).

Hopefully we'll get some love at some point. Hunters are already getting some crazy buffs (no more deadzone, mortal strike from aimed shot).

Which also means it will be a rather long time before 2.3 comes out. I don't think many small guilds are going to make it to then.

I'll believe it when I see it, but MS shot is ridiculous beyond belief. If they're taking away the deadzone for Hunters I'd like to see them drop it for everyone, too, but that's a different issue.

Taking away the deadzone sounds like too much...

Taking away the deadzone for hunters? What? Who shoots an arrow at point blank range? Blizz please don't do this...hunters have enough tricks to get back in shooting distance!

OT: Holy **** 3k posts! Someone do a Smiley: yippee for me my premium just ran out!

my god. For a moment the word deadzone wasnt registering in my brain.

it wasnt that i didnt know what it meant. It was just that as a rogue i COULDNT make myself consider it.

Zip, Whirlwind = Warrior have no deadzone :P.

Rogue have one tho. Wouldn't mind losing it, altho quite frankly I don't really care either way.

BTW, Deadzone = the 5-8 range where you're out of melee but to close to be shot. Elimintating the deadzone means lowering min shooting distance to 5 yards.

Now when they say they want to remove minimum range, you can start panicking.

Watch them give us Wands.

The deadzone being that there is no spot between melee and ranged where Hunters can't do anything, not that they can still pewpew you with arrows when you're right in their face.

They'd lower the minimum range on arrows to 6 yards, and with a 5 yard melee range you'd be within range of either their bow or their melee weapons at all times.

EDIT: I think we posted at about the same time, Tyr. =p

And I keep hearing that, but please, test it. I've spent time testing it in duels and it's not accurate; if I can't melee you, I can't whirlwind you.

Maybe you have smaller arms than the average Tauren.

(Oh and that isn't meant to be a crappy warrior/talent related pun).

actually zip, i can attest to WW having an 8 yard range. first off, it says it on the tooltip. secondly, ive killed any number of cocky mages who thought they could frost nova > back into deadzone > polymorph and get away with <10% health. rogues who try to deadzone kite will get WW'ed too sometimes, if the situation calls for it. good way to kill an FD'ed hunter too, especially if youre snare trapped or rooted with entrapment.

more than that, its a common tactic of mine to stand as equidistant from 2-4 people as i can when i WW if they all look like theyd be in range. its quite effective used right.

Hunters don't really have a deadzone anyway:

Remember? The ******* pet!

The only thing I can think of is that it's a side effect of being a tauren, because I know I have a deadzone. I'll test again later tonight.

Not sure if they're related, but the Warrior Weapon Mastery (moved to Fury in place of Death Wish - thanks for nothing, Blizz) is going to be changed to a flat -4% Dodge rather than a certain amount of Expertise. It's possible something similar will happen with the Rogue Weapon Expertise.

I raid as Fury, and I had Death Wish when I went PvP spec regardless. So... yes, actually. It doesn't change Arms build in the slightest, really, but it screws Fury rather nicely.

Why wouldn't he? He could get both before as Arms because the 35+ talents in arms are so crappy nobody takes them.

On the other hand thought, 'real' pve warrior, the guy to put 41+ point in fury to dps, now lose Death Wish and gain Sweeping Strike... and a lot of warriors are unhappy because Deathwish was a much more powerful dps ability.

Yea, i didn't factor in a PVE Fury perspective.

I seriously don't think about anything but PVP. In fact i might update my sig.
