Some questions at lvl 11Follow

I'm new to druid class. I read the FAQ, which had some good info. I just wanted to get people's answers for some questions I still had:

Should I be fighting in bear form from 11-20? I just got the form and am unsure.

What gear should I be wearing? Currently I went to the ah and bought some leather stuff. Also, what weapon should I use? Right now i am using staves.

What other cities have druid trainers besides Thunder Bluff?

Thanks in advance for the help :)

Yes you should use bear form to learn what it can do. For grinding mobs it helps that you can start with starfire and moonfire, and when the enemy reaches you change to bear form. You rarely have to heal yourself anymore, and when you get low on mana you can go through a whole fight in bear form. This will allow your mana to regen while you are fighting instead of just sitting down and drinking.

You should train to be able to use all the possible weapons we are able to use (maces, daggers) but we generally don't care what weapon type we are using. Just pick whatever weapon you can find that gives you the most stats, and remember weapon damage and speed dont make any difference in bear form (or cat form later).

For gear stick to leather unless you find a great blue piece of cloth gear. Again, wear whatever you can find that gives you the best stats, which is strength/agility/stamina for feral combat or intellect/stamina for casting.

Moonglade also has trainers. I always used Teleport: Moonglade to go train spells and then hearthstone right back to where I was.

There's a trainer lost somewhere in Silvermoon, too.

FrequenC,

Thanks for the good information. I have a question about professions. Are there any specific ones that go with well with Druids? On my main I have Tailoring/Skinning. I need to pickup enchanting either on the main and drop skinning or use it on the druid.

Basically I just need to figure out two good professions. :)

To add to what was already said:

Here is a list of druid trainers.

Hang in there if you find bear grinding tedious up to 20. Things speed up when you get cat form. I second the advice to nuke a bit first before fighting hand-to-claw in bear, that will help speed things along. I'd also suggest making good use of rested xp and doing all the green/yellow quests you can to get to the good stuff quicker.

Leathworking and Alchemy are generally considered the most useful crafting professions for druids. You can either choose one and its associated gathering profession now, or pick up both skinning and herbalism for the money and worry about crafting later, depending on how much money you want to leech from your main. Don't forget the secondary professions too, all are very useful for druids (buffed fish FTW).

Yeah when I was first exploring Silvermoon it baffled me too. The Blood Elves have absolutely nothing to do with nature and nature's energy it just made no sense. That makes as much sense as having a paladin trainer in a city of undead.... oh wait
