Has anyone ever solo'd Dire maul for this quest? Whats the minimun number you had in your group to do thisEpic? Tips?

Not a chance if you're talking the last bit of the Q chain.

I did it with 3. 2 'locks (I was one) and a warrior (prot).

I had 4 in my group.

2 locks (one of them a 70, the other was me at 64)
1 Rogue (in low 60s)
1 Hunter (in low 60s)

We must have sucked, because even with what we had we almost wiped.

Try to find a paladin doing their epic mount quest. They have to go to DM as well. Find a couple other locks who need dreadsteed and you're set for an easy run with those pally heals.

I went at 67 with my g/fs Hunter, also 67, a 70 Holy Priest, a 70 Hunter and a 70 'lock(brought the items). It was pretty easy and very fun. As far as soloing it though, not a chance. I'd question whether or not you could even make it to the spot where you do the summoning in DM solo. Except for Scholo the rest of the quest line is soloable though.

This quest is a PITA for me. I want to finish it so my Warlock can get her fiery mount (250g for an epic mount and riding skill is cheap), but no one's doing Dire Maul anymore. It's all about Karazhan this and Heroic whatever that.

Azeroth is dead except for the popular 1-58 quests. No one's doing instances beyond level 58 anymore. There's no reason. At 58 you go to Outland and get Tier 2 equipment from soloable hack'n'slash quests.

I want my mount so bad.

I hear you brotha....I didnt roll my lock will post tbc....I waited like two months in and leveled at that point. It sucks I never got my mount. I am riding a regular human horse. At some point I will get some marks and at least get a pvp mount but until then I am stuck on a horse. I feel your pain. I even went through all the other stuff getting the mats and everything but in the end I never got the group to do DM

You should look through This Thread to see if there are any warlocks on your server that will help you. Most of them will also try to put together a group to get you through the quest.

I did this one three times...

The first time, after spending all that gold for the mount, I found a group that had just finished and got a summon.

The second time it was me (lvl 70) two lvl 60 locks, a holy pally, and a 60 mage.

The third time it was 4 70s and one 60...really easy instance at that point

I was lucky getting my dreadsteed. I did not have to buy the 3 items at 250 gold, instead I payed a 70 lock 50g to run me trough Dire Maul. We were with a resto shaman as well.

To get the mount is a pain. I got lucky and was in a good guild with ppl who were willing to help get the mount. I dont think i would make another lock cause of the mount situation. I didnt have to get the dreadsteed but why wouldnt i. Its the coolest. I was lvl 60 and a 70 mage solo scholomace until i got the quest and then a druid,me,and the mage went into dire maul and did the rest. It was a pain, but once i got the mount i was so happy and proud of it. Well i wish u luck.

It's quests like these that your guild should help you out.

It's solo-able (assuming you have the west dm key) up until you get to the dog-boss (imperius?). You'll need at least two to kill it - although three is best. During the summoning process, you need at least two helpers. Final fight isn't bad, but you should still need three people.

The *minimum* is 3 lvl 70's - hopefully a healer and a tank. Always best with a regular five man - it only takes 40 minutes or so.

If you buy the mats, every lock without a dreadsteed will love you for it - provided you don't charge guildies :)

You don't need 3 level 70s.

I did it with two 70s and I was 64 at the time.

I did it with me at 60, my guild master's 70 lock, wanted my boyfriend to come along, we both hit 61 at the same time in there and I think a 58 warrior. It was a little tough, I died during summoning but I managed to run back in and make it in time.

I did this quest together with a lvl 70 frost mage (PvP geared), I was lvl 67 affliction at that time.

There is no way that we could have survived the dreadguards during the summoning part, but still we were able to finish the summoning before we died -> run back (imps and dreadguards will be gone by then) and summon the dreadsteed, save your soulstone for this fight.
