i almost pugged kara with this guy earlier, the first thing he said was "i'm dpsing". i checked him out on armory and i see the gear, i say "nice" (despite some of it being tanking gear), then i see the spec and it's 41/20.

i asked him why did he spec deeper than 33 points in for ms and second wind, and he said "for endless rage", and that enrage is good "in case i get ganked". when i asked why he didnt spec into deathwish and flurry i got no answer. upon looking at his spec again, i see imp rend and commanding presence ><

call me elitist if you want, but it just irks me how someone could have gotten all those gear goodies and be so clueless about how to spec warrior at 70.

This is an example of being in the right place at the right time. Much is the case for me. The GM decided to run Mag for me so I could get the T4 chest piece. He took a look at the EPGP and came to the conclusion that I would be first on the list to get the chest piece. There was another guy with more PR than me, but he won't be raiding so it went to me. Anyways, at least I know what to socket. Granted it might be the greatest mixture, but I don't stack purely AP gems.

I think this is right up there with the guy who socketed +spirit gems too, lol. Oh well, he's not doing his guild any favors.

I don't know how many times I have done Prince and have passed on the T4 helm, and to see this nub with it makes me want to vomit. (Last time I did prince, a guy who no longer raids with his druid took the t4 helm; funny thing is, he has a full t4 warrior that he uses now..wtf!?)

Goodies? He's wearing like two pieces of Gruul's gear, it's nothing major.

Major enough for someone who uses Rend to DPS.

well, my guild is still trying to get into kara, we've spent the last few weeks getting everyone keyed and geared up, we're still one or two 70's short (which wouldn't be the case if two pallies had never left), so for me having two pieces of gruul's gear is a big deal right now.

it just peeves me more that this guy seemed clueless about his gear and spec. he has a few tanking pieces in there (i think the neck and bracers), and only 1302 AP unbuffed. i have 1540 AP unbuffed in my gear in zerker stance.

You never know, his guild (or his friend's guild) could be hitting the T5/T6 content, so when he tags along for T4 content he may get freebies.

So much win.

Sadly froman, there is an abundance of "veteran idiot" players, even among warriors, one of the simpler classes.

It makes me sad to see warriors that attempt to DPS get better gear than me, as i love to DPS....He's wearing quite a few tanking items...i mean he could have the 2p set for the reduced rage cost to WW. he deserves a swift death ;_;

Maybe I'm spoiled, but... meh. Gruul isn't that big of a deal on a lot of servers; I don't know how yours is, but we do PuG Gruul/Magtheridon/SSC on our server. They'd do PuG TK too, but Kael'thas is an extremely difficult fight so I don't expect to see that completed anytime soon.

Besides, I saw an alt Warrior of a terrible player in our guild get the DST in a PUG run, so my sympathy is limited... we've never had one drop, and he's been bragging about it nonstop in guild line.

Luckily he's never getting into a raid, ever, on any character, but still... annoying.

Pretty weird spec.

I have Commanding Presence. I don't know how useful it is in raids but in a 5-man group, it's pretty invaluable.

There's a Gruul's pug on my server every now and then...
Main problem i have is gear to actually make me viable dps.
When it comes to Pre-25 man gear there's not that much dps stuff...
Can't get an arena team so that takes away most of my options, normal PvP gear aint all that great, only option i have that makes me near viable is the ragesteel set.

You have a lot of options.

PvP Vetran set is not that bad at all although arena gear is much better. You don't need a lot to get a few arena items.

You have at least a few epics from reputation from variuos places.

You have quite a nice choice of crafted epics. Black steel Bracers, Red Belt of Battle or Bracers from TK or some weapons ( I used to have BoE epic 2 H sword myself).

You can get BSing for a very nice chest or weapons.

You can get a few items from heroics - like legs from Mechanar and a few more can be bought for badges (Ring of arathi warlords, cloak, trinket).

i take that back, i do spec 5/5 commanding presence myself in my fury build.

oh well... i know that if i had more raid epics i would be able to dps like crazy. i topped dps in reg bm yesterday, over a lock with full epics... i was on add duty though ^^

@Krisss

On my server it seems that DPS warriors are looked down upon when it comes to 5-mans.

Only time i get to do 5-mans is when i happen to be on at a time when my guild is looking for 1 more DPS.

I am still currently only at a Max rep of Honored with most of the Outlands reps, though Shat'ar is only 3k away from rev.

russki, only problem there is i hate tanking (off tanking i don't mind) and i am quite a terrible tank, i'm not afraid to admit it.

And the PvP gear is a long road for me cause the only way to get a decent amount of honor is through AV and there's only so much AV one can take.
I loathe AB and WSG gives nowhere near enough honor (which i think blizz should change)

I despise tanking as well, albeit for a different reason; with guildmates, it's not as bad to tank since you're usually having fun anyways. I still can't find groups for heroic SH once I went back to DPS though... it's not too easy getting heroics done as a dps warrior... unfortunately.

complete lack of CC really sucks :/

I used to think there was only so much AV one could take. Then I discovered the pleasures of drunken AV. Now there's no such thing as too much. Give me a few beers and the hours pass away as I get to the point, eventually, where I'm fighting Vanndar with 15% health left and I think back to how I got there, and it's all a blur.

I would enjoy that, unforunately my gf lives with me and as such, me getting drunk is a very rare occasion (I think the last time i got properly drunk was over a year ago >.>)

I am wondering, why did ya choose war if you hate tanking? Sounds like a fish saying that it hates water.

Not everyone thinks warriors are fun to tank with. Personally i love it, but not as much as furiously smashing my opponent's head in with a big stick =D

There are reputations you can easily solo - Aldor/Consortium/Ogrilla ....

You can solo any veteran piece easily.

You can solo any craftable item easily.

To get Arena epic you need 1 - 4 ppl - not that hard to find if you try.

Believe me you can solo gear for DPS warrior to the point where he is valiable as DPS in Gruul/SSC/VR.

And yes it does take time.
