No more dead zone for hunters = PvP mage nerfFollow

#1 Oct 13 2007 at 9:22 AM Rating: Decent
Well apparently the hunters dead zone is going to be removed.

Who does this hurt more than mages in PvP?

It's not like the hunter's popping BW was easy enough to kill us, the only really viable way to kill them was to basically live in their dead zone.

Timing a well placed frost nova that would snare there pet and hunter, then backing to deadzone and frost bolting / CoC'ing them was pretty much the status quo for killing the hunter (assuming they didn't have BW up).

Thoughts?

I haven't heard a single thing about anything changing for the dead zone, so that's news to me. Far as I know the only decent thing hunters are getting is getting to remove 1 buff with one of the shots.

That said, if there was going to be a change, guess that would mean you might have to actually work for a kill, instead of "the usual status quo" easy kill. Every class has easy and hard kills, so it just cracks me up whenever people QQ about one of the classes geting a buff that will make them more equal to that (the no longer free kill) class.

Far as what would it hurt more than mages, any of the melee classes.

My main is a mage BTW.

Imho the removment of the deadzone is a too huge buff... if u get snared in FN and that dumb mage is charging a frostbolt just feign death -.-" if u get snared again use ur freaking trinket. It's not like hunters currently need skills for pvp, but no more deadzone? God, lol

Yes mages will die, but hunters are 9th in 2v2, 9th in 3v3, 7th in 5v5.

Hunters should be able to kill you anyways, dancing through their deadzone was just over-exploiting a class weakness and it shouldn't have been a mage win in the first place. In short, QQ.

First off, there is no information to confirm this by blizzard and it is not on the official boards.

Secondly, PVP is all about exploiting a class's weaknesses, so the whole "over-exploiting" argument is pretty weak. Is it over-exploiting to keep a warrior frozen or slowed to kill them? No. If anything trying to stay in a hunter's dead zone is pretty fun.

Good hunters know how to avoid getting hit while in the dead zone from a mage. They get that add on that tells which spell we are casting and how much time it has left to finish its cast, and then use feign death. They can also use scatter shot at that time, so it is kind of difficult to hit some hunters.

And just to let you know even the hunters are admitting that this is retarded. Everyone knows its just going to end up in a nerf in a couple of months too, so you really shouldn't worry about it that much.

No need to thank me...
#11REDACTED, Posted: Oct 14 2007 at 8:30 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If this is true it would mean that mages will have 2 anticlasses to worry about. A BM hunter with no deadzone would beat any mage in pvp.
