i did it after much hesitation respec'd from Ret to Prot in order to get more people geared in Kara for our move on SSC. i've read everything "tankadin" and know what gearing needs to be done. my question is: of my Arena gear what could i salvage on my way to Kara MT? my Arena gear is dps related but the armor, stam, int, and spell are too good to let go.
so on my way to running mid-level instances and while i relearn tanking(haven't be prot since 60) what could i potentially keep. my target goal is 500 def, 12k hp, 5k mana, ~3-400 spell. i wanna be a Threat monkey in Kara without losing to much mitigation. i've only had 1 day as prot and know i need to resocket and reenchant, just trying to get a preview of where i need to go. thx guys.

mine is pretty good as far as getting there, i still need to replace some veterans crap but i made it to 491 def and have most if the mandatory stuff for tanking 5mans/raids ... the faqs on here are most helpful. I found one at :

It's a great list of all the items a tankadin needs as well as enchants and gems. I love the +12 stam and the defense + stam gems. They will get you to where you need to be fast.
Youll find a lot of the gear you'll be looking for are instance drops or quest rewards. So easy - go get em! Here's my armory. (shield is getting replaced , veterans bracers probably with green fortress bracers and the defense enchant again, getting spellpower on my blade tonight, a new head enchant tonight, and the veterans grieves replaced whenever i find something better, I also need a new ring and +spellpower on the ring.

I think after I finish getting everything I will be close to 500def or more, and close to uncrushable. Thats the hard one =p Good luck. Just takes some time. I respecced from ret too.
