Oh, and I think they should change the skin on the Travel form (the spell icon is a hoof, the hell?) and rename the Aquatic and Travel form to something a little more... original. Obviously our Aquatic form is a Sea Lion, so why not call it that?

Sea Cow?

I Two-Hand Mace Melee'd in Caster form from lvls 10-20. No joke. I'd atleast wrath them til they came in melee range and kept Moonfire on them though.

A Good Two-Hand Mace kept up-to-date > Bear form at that level of progression. Cat form changes it all though, but even it doesn't get super cool til like ~lvl24.

I once had a resto druid dpsing in cat form because we already had a healer, but he wasn't dumb, just filling a role he wasn't suited for because no one else was available. And he was cool too. So I don't know why I'm making this post. Guess I just don't see many dumb druids.

I don't see many dumb druids, either, but saw my first really bad one last night and found it downright embarassing. So I need a quick vent, and apologize for the wall 'o text. : )

Me, a pally, and a warrior were about to attack Dimensius the All Devouring in Netherstorm, when a druid walked by so I invited him to join us cuz I thought we were "light" especially on DPS.

The quest is to attack the badass elite void-walker dude with the help of a badass elite ethereal named Saeed and his posse. Saeed tanks him and your job is to keep Saeed alive while killing the bad guy. Dimensius hits hard as hell--I doubt he's untankable but clearly hard and with Saeed around there's zero reason to try.

So despite having a prot warrior and two feral druids, we were all sposta DPS while the Pally healed Saeed and us as necessary, due to a nasty little AOE the mob has. I checked fellow drood's feral gear and I outgeared him so I said I'll be main DPS, you DPS when you can and help the pally keep Saeed alive.

We engage. The Druidiot pops into bear form, and even taunts the badguy away from Saeed! He gets knocked down to 15% health in just a few quick shots. Served his *** right. I tell him to go cat and attack instead of tanking, but he doesn't listen and says he's a better tank than DPS. Nice. The pally's burning (wasting!) valuable mana trying to keep him alive and he ain't doing squat for DPS in bear, so when he dies I don't waste my cooldown battlerezzin his dumb ***.

We woulda wiped for sure except for a pally and priest that wandered by and dove in to help...they didn't bring a boatload of DPS to the table, but some, and Saeed, the warrior and I coulda gone all day with all that healing. So the group was me, a prot warrior, a non-shadow priest, and two pallies...took a while and I ended up doing like 65% our party's damage.

Afterward I let the pally rez the druidiot before we parted ways. Buh-bye good riddance.

Not a dru-tard - just a simple ******, albeit, what else would you expect from someone who was a member of a guild that recruited via drive by?

Guys,

How stupid it may seem not to have bear form, and how much I have gasped my socks off in disbelieve, consider the following:

- you just bought WoW
- install and wait 4,5 hours for the patches to download and install
- fire it up
- enjoy the best intro ever made
- view it again, and enjoy the best intro ever made again (sidenote: there is only one thing I want from santa this year, which is Blizzard making a 1,5 hour animated WoW film... disney, pixar and whatever can stop doing what they do now)
- click create new character
- choose a druid for class, since it sounds the most fun to do
- bummer over the fact that you can only choose night elf or tauren, but choose night elf for the looks which you like better
- view another not-too-fine intro this time
- start playing

Now this player becomes level 10, while enjoying the nice scenery and whatnot, and receives yet another quest, this time from the druid trainer. It does not mention that you get a cool form, so it just rests there between other quests that sound more interesting then go and see X in Moonglade.

Few levels later, you enter some dungeon and get laughed out of your trousers by the entire druid forum on Allakhazam for not having bear form, of which you do not even knew it existed!

Still pathetic of course, but this stuff DOES happen...

That being said: /LOL, no bear form at 20! What IS he thinking! /LOL again

Reading back, I cannot believe I just typed this. If you even read it, two thumbs up!

/pat

lol It CAN happen but it's still sad. I could prolly forgive him if it was like 2-3 maybe even 4-5 lvls later but 10? no way! Right in the discription you know that the class has shapeshifting so you should (I know I did) be looking for a way to get your forms ASAP. Meh... maybe thats me...

Speaking from my experience, I didn't know really anything about the game when I started playing. I picked warrior. I did the Defensive Stance quests as soon as I got them. I didn't know what Defensive Stance was for, I didn't know what the quests were for, but I figured it was important. I didn't use Defensive Stance for at least 20 levels if not more. But I still did the quests and I still set up the Defensive Stance attack bar when I got new abilities. There's no excuse for stupidity. Being new is not an excuse to be dumb.

My very first character was a Warr which I abandoned, but I, for one, didn't even do the quest. ^_^;;

Was too new and didn't know jack about anything. Someone who had at least one high level main told me to do it while on my first RFC run. Phew, saved me some embarrassment. :P

Selv, seeing the responses to the original "dumb@$$" of this thread, it might have been too late to save you from embarassment there too... /smile

Lol, nah. :P
I didn't really need the stance for RFC. The other guy was a Warr about the same level and I'd see that little "Sunder" icon and was wondering why he could do it and not me. XD

I don't really get how people don't do those quests...bear form quest is tasked to you when you get Teleport: Moonglade, and Defensive Stance is tasked right at your trainer.

>_>;

Edit: Not picking on you, selv; you're not the first or only Warrior I've seen who didn't have it though, which is why I'm all confused.

Oh no worries. :P Even I wonder how I could've missed the quest.

If memory serves, your trainer simply tells you to go see some dude. I was a Tauren Warrior, so he told me the guy was near the bridge between the Barrens and Durotar. I never really knew what the quest was for and I was unaware of the concept of "class quests" so I thought it was just another "go see that guy and he'll tell you to come back to me" quest.

Hence I let it rot in my questbook for quite a while! Now I remember. :D

You'd be surprised. There are plenty of high level warriors that never did the quest. I've told people on other boards in their 40s to go back and do the quest because otherwise they may as well retire their warriors.
