Ok, I have a level 22 Druid, which is I know by no means high, but even my meager experience with the class made me infuriated while watching a guildie of mine. On my level 28 hunter, he wanted some help with some quests in Ashenvale as a lvl 31 druid. Since I had the quests also, I decided to work them with him.

Since the quests were relatively easy, splitting up was the easiest way to finish the quests. I consistently noticed that he was ridiculously close to dying, and always had full mana. I asked him what he was doing and why he was never in any of his forms, he said 'I prefer to melee in caster form'. At this point I was like wtf, and told him if he really wanted to stay in caster form he atleast ought to be casting some spells rather than meleeing with a mace. I had never seen this happen before..opinions? I ended up kicking him out of the party and just finishing the quest by myself since I refused to be dragged down by him (yes he is a guildie, but it is one of those zerg guilds that you get invited to while running through). Guh, just had to talk about it somewhere.

lol that's sad.....
There was a lock once like that that apperently had to explain to me what each of his spells do before he casts them. He was drain tankin spec and got out of our fights with 10% health.

Some people just never learn, some learn, but are still sub-par, some learn fast and perform well, some are exceptional and use their character to their full abilities.

Oh as for guilds that invite you easily. Never join them, waste of time. Same for random group invites.

this game is very much like real life , it is full of people that are not willing to learn , or those that think they are gods gift to wow or those that know how to play but do not care about any others in the game and that includes their own guildies

my guild is small and we are all friends and we learn from each other . ( yes we learn ) i will not often group with anyone outside my guild but will help others and i have seen some very poor players even at level 70

i have seen druids that will not tank or heal , how they complete any quests i have no idea , perhaps they are lucky

but i have also seen all other classes just as bad in the way they play their role , i am not the best player on wow and never will be but i am slowly learning most roles , my favourite is my hunter at level 67 and still beastmaster spec , my shadow priest at 37 is painfully weak when attacked by more than 1 mob ( i hear/read that gets easier after 40 ? ) my shammy at 25 is great fun but not so sure its going to get to 70 , my mage at 25 is great for nuking but my druid which is going up roughly a level an hour and now at 22 is great fun , sure it is not the best at anything , but how many classes are there where you can be a warrior or a rogue or a priest or go nuking mobs and all at the same time

my view on the game is that many try and play the wrong class for them the rogue i have is 22 and as a pure rogue i find it somewhat boring to play that way all the time , same as warrior , that is not for me either , the one class i must get and try is a warlock as the highest i have got mine before deleting was 21 and i guess warlock is just a nuking healing hunter

i learn a lot from watching others playing and when i see someone that is good at their class i talk to them and ask questions if i cannot see what they are doing to play so well , anyway my main advice is if it is a nerf guild then get the hell out and find a decent guild there are so many good ones , i would never join any guild that just asked me without knowing how i play or that i knew nothing about

i joined my guild because they did not ask me , i was helping a lower level player do the run through wetlands and one of the guild at level 60 decided to help me get her level 9 through as i was only a level 19 hunter anyway and we just got talking , i think that is the best way to find a guild , i do know a few other good guilds and i now work with them sometimes getting them new under 16 members as my guild is 16+ in age

Once I've seen a druid who was balance/resto (more in balance, enough to have the boomkin) And in the dungeon... he was in bear form. The tank was a bear druid, but this moonkin druid kept going into bear form.

Bear form doesnt have much dps ('cause hey, its a tank!!) and he had no points in feral at all.. and he was level 70.

People like that make me sad.

oho, I found another one today! I was in Wailing Caverns on my warlock with a pretty good group, i was a lvl 22 lock, 22 warrior (who was the most effective low level tank I have ever seen), 19 hunter, 16 priest, and this lvl 20 druid.

We got to one of the areas with the little plant things (Lashers, the non-elite lvl 18 130 health things, for those who are familiar with the instance), and this druid got it in his head that everyone was about to die. So, before we even fight anything, he throws rejuv/regrowth on everyone. As the tank shoots one, because of all the healing aggro, about 6 lashers charge him. This guy takes off screaming how he is about to die, and runs into a group of higher level elites and we basically wipe except that luckily there was still some time left on the soulstone i had given to the priest and he rezzed.

When I asked him why he didn't just go into bear form and kill the things himself, he told me that he never did the quest.

O god that sounds hilarious!

"O GOD WE'RE ALL GONNA DIEEEE!!"

[groups calmly attacks over glorified cabages]

"YAAAAARGH" [throws self into elites in some half minded attempt to save himself]

and he never did the bear quest!

MAN I GOTTA MEET THIS GUY!

man what was his reaction with those slow as sliding sh*t, green blobs with the multiplying damage aura?

*****

I remember me and my party jumping into that big pool after beating the boss who joins the rod pieces.

man we died so fast, i'd been there before so many times and not run into that croc thing.

Those tiny annoying little fern thingies that drop all the mushrooms? The least menacing mobs in the game?

Very very very sad.... when I was leveling my druid the first thing I ever even wanted to do was get my forms, it's the point of the whole class!

Since he's level 20 he's got 3 forms to catch up on, this guy really needs a slap on the wrists and a punch in the face.

Do you suppose it's just the quests that bother him, or that he refused to spend good silver training cat form as well? :D
#17 Oct 17 2007 at 12:30 PM Rating: Good
...yes

On a sidenote I forgot that cat was just buying from the trainer instead of a quest. Bliz really got lazy there "Let's have quests for Bear and Sea form... but after that, ***** it they can buy it at the trainer or get from talents"

a druid trying to tank a instance in cat i was resto atm and i tanked half the instance and healed lol

Yeah, I agreee that its weird to not have a quest for cat form. Not that the sea form quest is impossible or anything, but it has a reasonable amount of lore behind it. Why they went through the trouble of making a quest for the least used form (at least I have never found a REAL good reason for it), and yet one of the three staple forms of the class you can just buy from the trainer. Kinda goofy.

I agree, but after the PITA of the aquatic form quest I was more than happy to buy Cat form and be done with it. Likewise quest-less acquisition of Flight Form. Seems like there SHOULD be quests for both, especially as I've heard people complain that we don't have as many class-quests as some other classes, but you won't ever hear ME complaining. : ) Blizz made up for the trainer-based acquisition of cat and flight form with the uberPITA quest for Swift Flight Form anyway. : / Someday, someday...

Supposedly there is a "Cat spirit" near Moonglade, like the Bear spirit you visit on the bear quest. People have theorized that Blizz got lazy on that one, and more recently people have wondered if Blizz will use it as part of a quest for a powered up "Dire Cat" form in the next exp pack.

More importantly, I cringe whenever I read the subject of this thread..."Dru-tard" is such a blatant ripoff of "Huntard." But Huntard works because the words flow together. Drutard not so much.

I propose a new terms for Druids that give us a bad name: "Druidiots"

Let's have a pretty decent quest for the Bear and Aquatic form and then a royal PITA quest for something as simple as Cure Poison!

I mean, what the hell? One of the things I hate the most about leveling a new Druid is having to do that Poison quest over again. Meanwhile we just purchase Remove Curse from the trainer, like every other class do with their cures.

Makes me think Blizzard was nowhere near completion when they released the game.

Oh, and I think they should change the skin on the Travel form (the spell icon is a hoof, the hell?) and rename the Aquatic and Travel form to something a little more... original. Obviously our Aquatic form is a Sea Lion, so why not call it that?
