So I'm a proc spec pally on a PVP server, sue me.Follow

Other than telling me to spec something else, is there other tips you can offer? I was thinking about dumping some talents into Retribution to help hold threat, do you think that would help?

EDIT: I have no idea why my wowsig is on the frits.

What exactly is it you are looking for? Kinda hard to give tips when the question is so broad. You mention "hold threat", but that has nothing to do with the fact you're on a PvP server. So are you looking for tanking advice then? Are you looking for advice on PvP aspects (as I assumed when I read your topic line)?

I apologize, I like to tank and I also like to PVP so what would be the best build possible for that combo?

If you like to pvp and tank your screwed unless you have two different characters.

Thanks for not reading.

I said the best possible combination, not "I want two characters". It's called problem solving.

I've been told to go 41 proc and the rest into ret.

Does that sound like a solid plan?

Only issue there would be that you'd be unable to keep yourself alive as well. Without 10 points in holy, your heals will be harder to get off.

Actually, he was reading, as that IS the best combo for PvPing AND tanking. Face it, a Paladin tank sucks @$$ in PvP, no questions about it. If you really truly want to be a tank AND do some PvP, go 41 Prot and 20 Holy, become a combat medic for PvP. Although this build isn't quite viable for raids/Heroics. If you wanna be viable for raids/Heroics you can do the opposite, but then the only thing you'll be good at in PvP (healing) will be crap.

As a bonus, no rogues will ever corpse camp you.

You just can't CC a guy that takes 20 minutes to kill.

I have a good IRL friend that is a holy spec tank, so healing isn't a problem and as such there is no real need of it.

We were thinking a 2v2 of a holy/proc pally and a proc/ret pally.

Sure probably not the *ideal* combo, but it would still kick *** on the shear amount of stun ability, not to mention we have a rogue for 3v3.

Might work alright. Would certainly irritate anyone who tries to kill you. Smiley: laugh

Anetheron is a dead server. The Fifth Star play alliance side and the server is so underpopulated that it hurts. From what I recall from a person that had a horde side toon it is just as bad. Not trying to trash you Rime (I leave that for the Asylum) but just a heads up in that you will have limited opportunity at end game at 5 man content, let alone 10/25 man raiding. If you are low level and the people you play with are as well it might pay to move to a server with a larger population.

As for Prot, well I never recommend Prot until after lvl 35. 35 you have reckoning which is the foundation of Prot damage. Couple levels after that you have Holy Shield. 35+ prot is smooth sailing, before then it is lack luster in terms of leveling compared to Retribution.

Prot in itself isn't bad for world pvp. I found Ret paladins a joke while I leveled Prot. In bg they are nothing special, dps is not burst enough to be worth it. Almost better to sit back and heal (heals win pvp).
