Many of you seem like you haven't read the patch notes. So, here's the "important stuff" for us. "Enjoy"
Nerfs:
- Expertise: We have added a new stat and associated rating called
expertise and expertise rating. Expertise rating converts to
expertise at the same rate that weapon skill rating formerly
converted at. Each point of expertise reduces the chance for your
attacks to be dodged or parried by 0.25%.
Bye bye our last good defensive ability.
Dropping the Flag in a battleground will now result in a debuff that
will not allow you to pick up the flag again for 3 seconds.
No more vanish -> pick up flag. I can't think of any other class that drops the flag and then picks it back up right after, so this is a "rogue only" nerf.
- Chastise (NEW) is now available to Dwarf and Draenei priests at level
20. Chastise causes Holy damage and incapacitates the target for 2
seconds.
Yea continue buffing priests!
- Pain Suppression (Discipline Talent) is now usable on friendly
targets, instantly reduces the target's threat by 5%, reduces damage
taken by 40% and its cooldown has been reduced to 2 minutes.
If you don't know what this talent is, you will very soon.
-Blind Now shares the same diminish category as Cyclone
and is now diminished in PvE as well as PvP.
Bye bye Rogue/Druid
Riposte is now subject to diminishing returns in PvP.
Because a 4 second situational disarm is much more overpowered than a 12 second one /nod ( I realize they're both on DR, but disarm is still significantly longer and really just neuters us).
- Ruthlessness now only affects melee finishing moves. It no longer
works with Deadly Throw.
Good luck catching targets.
- Devastate (Protection) now combines the effects of Sunder Armor into
its effect. It is also now affected by all talents and items that
affect Sunder Armor.
-_-
Buffs:
- Healing reduction effects will now affect all health drain spells and
abilities (e.g. Mortal Strike will reduce health gained from Drain
Life).
No more "lol my HS crit for 5k!" locks.
- Expertise: We have added a new stat and associated rating called
expertise and expertise rating. Expertise rating converts to
expertise at the same rate that weapon skill rating formerly
converted at. Each point of expertise reduces the chance for your
attacks to be dodged or parried by 0.25%.
Maybe we won't have every finisher mitigated by a warrior in some way/shape/form now...
- Detect Magic removed. All players may now see their target's
beneficial effects at all times.
Not like you couldn't tell already...
- Hypothermia duration increased to 45 sec.
Might even the playing ground slightly against frost mages.
- All poisons will now enchant the weapon for 1 hour, increased from 30
minutes
Hey look, something that should have been that way since release!
- Blind is now a physical (no longer a poison) attack. Reagent
requirement removed.
Look mom, again!
- Pain Suppression (Discipline Talent) is now usable on friendly
targets, instantly reduces the target's threat by 5%, reduces damage
taken by 40% and its cooldown has been reduced to 2 minutes.
Hello Rogue/Disc Priest
- Fleet Footed (Assassination) now increases movement speed by 8/15%.
No more "run the other way!" techniques!
- Rogue's Deadly Throw missile speed increased significantly and snare
duration increased slightly.
So now the gloves will work as intended? Gee that only took them... TWO ENTIRE SEASONS TO DO.
- Shadowstep (Subtlety) can now be used at any time, not only while
stealthed. Threat caused by next Ambush, Garrote or Backstab is
reduced by 50%. Cooldown increased to 40 seconds.
Good anti-kiting, but numbers don't lie: the spec will still be too weak to perform well.
- Weapon Mastery (Arms) now reduces duration of Disarm effects against
you by 25/50% rather than giving you a 50% chance to avoid or full
immunity to Disarm effects.
Yea!
Overall:
Overall, this patch affects the Rogue class neutrally. Blind will finally be worth something and deadly throw will finally work the way it's supposed to, but our natural defense (dodge) will be eliminated and deadly throw will be a "last hope" ability instead of a "I'll get there eventually" one. I think people are just let down because this was supposed to be the "hey we're gonna fix rogues in 5v5 arena" patch, when the only thing really good happening to us is we're not getting nerfed.
