Flaming Ice Shards?Follow

Solo'ing maybe. Not raiding.
First off, you're missing a few of the big things in Frost. Winter's Chill and full Ice Shard being the big things, but are also missing out on Frostbite for solo play. Your fire spells are going to be very low damage compared to your frost spells with only 18 points in and nothing in arcane, as well, so there's really no point in getting those except for the crit mana reduction, which isn't worht the 18-point commitment when you could get better stuff in frost.

The big thing against raiding, though, is the lack of Arcane Concentration. Mages go oom so easily that it's required for any and all raiding specs in order to keep up with the long fights.

I actually tried something like this in arena once. I was specced fire with a lot of +fire dmg gear. But i was used to go frost in Arena. So i decided to use something different ( this is for arena )

No improved fireball or frostbolt, cause u rely on scorch and instants like fireblast. Good thing is with incineration and shatter this has some nice side effects. Cause shatter doesn't only affect frost, but all spells. So u have the ice block and barrier and the cold snap and ice floes to freeze and shatter some with fire, which causes ignites.

I have to say i workes quite nice, only drawback is (and your spec has the same problem) is that it drains your mana in no time. But still it's kinda a fun spec to play with, as all assume that you are frost when they see ice barrier

Now im back to full frost in arena and i have to say that really is the best spec. The other one is nice when u have a lot of +fire gear (for example you are a fire raiding mage that wants to do some arena but full frost is no option because u have no other gear at your diposal)
