Feeling the RoguenessFollow

I just had a "rogue" moment. Keep in mind, it was probably the first Rogue moment I've had since Arena came out.

I was in AV on defense as usual. We were doing alright, putting up a good fight. SP had just got capped and due to the Ally's "amazing" spawning system, we all spawned completely out of the way of the action (being fixed in 2.3!) Anyway, I decided that while my group would be working things out up in the front, I'd go back and secure IW bunker. On my way down I noticed a lone hunter poorly geared hunter riding up mounted. Of course, I couldn't resist.

After slaying the hunter (with minimal effort really, you really do notice the difference on well geared pvp'rs and NOT well geared pvp'rs: that hunter dropped in about 12 seconds, faster than most clothies do. You know, how things used to be). Anyway, I began stealthing when all of a sudden I had a mark on me. Knowing I could just cloak it off I was about to hit the cloaking button when I saw the other hunter send his faithful pet after me. Not only was this hunter significantly better geared, he also had several friends running up his rear. So, I vanished before the pet could get to me and in a perfect world the story would have ended there.

But nope. The hunter dropped a flare and I had enough time to move out of the way, but at the cost of running right into one of his friends. The war, although he for sure saw me, couldn't get a lock on my position and started screaming at the top of his lungs. Believing to myself that a person screaming couldn't make me stop hiding but then quickly realizing that warriors operate on an echo sight system apparently, my stealth is removed and I'm greeted by Mr. Warrior. I don't know where mr. hunter's pet went, but had he been following me this may have been a different story. Anyway, I gouge the war and start running away. He trinkets and uses his inveitable oh-so-not-overpowered intercept and tosses up a nice hamstring. I blind him and sprint towards IW bunker, now seeing a boomkin starting to cast at me from the door.

I head in the front of the building, am able to cloak out of the moonfire and stealth. Thinking quickly, I realize that by the way I was running looked like I was running into the building. Responding to my natural rogueness, I jumped out over the railing while stealthed and hid in the snow. The warrior, hunter (now) and three or four other horde all go in. When I'm certain no one can see me, I take a big leap off the hill and shadowmeld. Seconds later, I eat and stealth.

So there you have it, the calling card of rogues that I oh-so-miss. These moments come very rarely since the Arenas. I stand by it that despite the fact that warriros have sonar vision and hunters have super fireworks and vanish works a grand total of 10% of the time, rogues have and always will be the master of killing your friends then running and hiding when you try to bring retribution upon them.

Makes me feel like a Rogue again.
