First Kara RunFollow

#1 Oct 11 2007 at 6:40 PM Rating: Decent
Well I just finished with my first trip in the Kara instance. I was the main tank (oh i switched back to prot) and we killed Attumen on our first try (no disarm either). This was my guild's first run and none of them had tried it yet either so we were all learning together. It was a bit sketchy at first (we wiped on the first pull, mostly cause it was a bad pull and there was no leadership) but we pulled it together, they let me lead them through and mostly call the shots as we went from group to group.

We got to Moroes and we couldn't quite beat him. We wiped the first time cause I forgot you need a second tank to have secondary aggro on him, so the first thing he did was kill my healer. The second time we alllmost had him... he was around 20% when we wiped, but one of our shacklers died because of the garrote (I already used my BoP and I couldnt tell one of the other Paladins to use it) about halfway and we had trouble adjusting to that. The third time went sour as I dunno what was happening with my healer but I dropped pretty quickly and it fell apart from there. We werent able to do it again as the respawns were being too much of a nuisance and my stuff broke a second time and some people had to go.

So we are probably going to try again next week, hopefully some people will grab better gear and we can spank Moroes.

All in all though, it was pretty fun and I'm looking forward to doing it again.

Grats. Yeah moroes is defiantly a healer-focused boss. You can't depend on BoP to save people, honestly I only use it when a healer gets garroted. How many healers did you bring?

2 Paladin healers and we had 2 Shadow Priests that would heal through VE while they werent shackling.

We had 4 Paladins in total lol... 2 healers, 2 tanks, but that's who we could get at the time.

Wow then that's a really good set up. Your healers need to step it up and not let you die :)

As for myself I downed kael for the first time (the time my char completed Hyjal attunement, someone else was playing on my character). It was actually a lot of fun. I was so proud of myself I actually took a screenshot. Next time you down something in kara you should post a screen shot here.

Grats on the kill.

Moroes can be a bit of a pain while people get used to dealing with the adds, but hopefully he'll die for you soon. Make sure people are clear on the kill order and focus fire the mobs down that aren't staying shackled.

My guild tried Maulgar this week for the first time - it was not pretty.

Gratz Jack! Sounds a lot like the first time I went to Kara, we couldn't get Moroes either. Definently takes some getting used to. I been bringing just my Paly to Kara for a while, but recently got to bring both my Hunter and my Lock on different Kara runs. Had to learn the Moroes fight all over again >.>
