2.3 patch notes are up and with it so are my hopes. With the riposte buff to combat and the added hp/resil from season 3 gear, I'm 95% confident that all hard core pvp'n dagger specs will die. I still refuse to swap specs, but there's no way around it now: combat is the best spec for everything.

Seems Blizzard really enjoys making rogues act like bad warriors -_-

People keep telling us to stop comparing ourselves to warriors. I'll stop doing it when Blizzard makes us useful in some other way than being a watered down warrior.

Exactly nooble!

Keep in mind this problem arises from arenas.

Which is why it makes absolutely no sense that they'd buff Lolstep or Fleet Footed.

The buff to riposte is actually the nerf to warriors making their talent decrease disarm duration instead of being immune to it entirely.

Yet it still costs us 6 talent points to pick up riposte. Riposte is now on DR and if anything it is even easier for warriors to pick up their anti-disarming talent (it has been swapped with improved intercept so it is earlier on in the fury tree).

-Riposte is now subject to diminishing returns in PvP.
-Improved Intercept and Weapon Mastery have swapped locations in the talent trees.
-Weapon Mastery (Arms) now reduces duration of Disarm effects against you by 25/50% rather than giving you a 50% chance to avoid or full immunity to Disarm effects.

With 2/2 in Weapon mastery, warriors will have reduced disarm lengths by 50%. Add DR to that and your first Riposte lasts 3 seconds, second one at most 1.5 and from then on its pretty pointless...

I don't see how this is considered a "buff" although feel free to enlighten me please!

Edit: stuck in the patch quotes.

Very simple. Three seconds of a warrior NOT beating on you is more than enough time for your healers to get you back up.

and you're not even thinking! how incredibly long do you think that fight is going to last you? riposte is on 10 second cooldown, right? that means that even if you parried that warriors attacks with the appropriate timing, you would still need to wait a little over 20 seconds to get that off anyway (energy constraints). granted the time is reduced a little--i still see it as a nerf--but you shouldn't really consider it a nerf because after 2 usages the returns are sad as hell. the fight with said warrior probably isn't going to last much longer than that. granted, it could. but it shouldn't. get it done man. the longer that fight goes on, the more of a chance you're toast. that warrior will eat you alive.

6 second cooldown on Riposte.

With a good healer, I'd have 2-3mins long fight with Warriors.

i guess the warriors you are fighting must be really decked, because it doesn't take me that long to burn mine down (arena rating 1500ish--i know it's low but they are still wars in plate, and some of them are very good). your healer must be really really good if you let it go on that long my friend. my point is that the situational nature of riposte (you need the energy b4 it goes away, you need to parry when riposte is not on cd) make it ok for 1 fight. plus it's still awesome damage/energy. use it. be grateful.

I'm curious lessons if you've ever seen the arena floor. You try killing something with 12k HP, 400 resil and plate armor in under a minute even when he's not getting healed.

Edit: Yep. 1507 rating, just what I figured. Play in the 1800 bracket (I used to be there but am in the middle of partner swaps so we took a bit of a hit) and you'll see the opponents we're discussing.
