Paladin Alliance Race question.Follow

#1 Oct 11 2007 at 3:29 PM Rating: Decent
Yes, I have read the FAQ, but I am wanting opinions.

I am planning on doing Retribution til my upper 20s (maybe switch earlier) and then go Prot.

I do not plan on raiding at L.70.

I play WoW because it is fun, I dont play it to stress out over raids and raid times.

I have five L.70s and I have decided I need to start my Alliance Paladin.

I know the alliance races that can be a Paladin, but I would like to know why YOU choosed the race you picked.

In the past I thought people played humans Paladins because they didnt care, and others choosed Dwarves because they didnt want to be humans.
I already have three four Draenei characters, and I have indeed played human and dwarf characters in the past.

So any input on why you picked who you picked might make me think out of my confined box.

Humans - 10% extra rep (default race for many, IMO.)
Dwarves - Stoneskin/10% armor right? (I have yet to find a good looking dwarf model)
Draenei - Gift of the Naaru, and the extra rep they seem to get. (I have three Draeneis already... do I really want a fourth fifth?)

Any help or constructive criticism is much needed, Thanks!

Well if you are going to go Prot, Dwarf Stoneskin might save your **** in situations, Shieldwall + stoneskin = did something just sneeze on me

I agree. I went human, but this was my first toon ever so...

I love the rep gain, it's nice espically when I get higher for other stuff. But I'm a prot pally, and stoneskin could be really nice...

I would go dwarf if i were you.... maybe ugly, but it makes the already hard to kill pally even harder.

Female dwarf pala here, originally chosen because I wanted a dwarf character and paladin seemed like a good idea at the time (I like the fanstasy genre). But I find stoneform quite useful (it also removes poisons - not so useful and bleeds - very useful).

Plus the casting animation with pigtails is excellent, and the most commented thing about my paladin.

I think draenei only appear to get extra rep as for some reason their starting area is balanced differently from other races, I don't think they gain any rep benefits from other areas.

I also think terrible male draenei's look terrible on horses, whereas humans and dwarves look good on the charger.

As you can tell I care a bit more about aesthetics than logcial number based class combinations, I'd say go with the combo that you think is best.

Basically, I was told to start with the race I would mind the LEAST to look at for hours on end.

So, I went for the classic human knight in shining armor look. It's kinda chessey, but I'd rather look at Prince Charming all day instead of some ugly Dwarf. (No offense intended to those of you who play Dwarves.)

I like Dwarves.

The Frost resist is a minor help versus Frost effects, the Stoneskin removes effects against Rogues and the armor is moderate.

The most obvious Paladin choice is unfortunately Blood Elf.

I patterned my Paly after a real good friend actually. Looks just like her :) Oh, the rep bonus is nice too, hehe.

The rep bonus for humans is great once you reach 70 and have to start the rep grind but IMO Drae all the way, I have 6 of them now.

Personal preference ftw.

Racials, Starting stats all mean nothing.

I picked a Human Pali... I didnt want to be a dwarf and the draenai weren't an option until recently.

I was thinking of making a Female Pali from the draenai because I hate how the males look and wanted to have a HoT option... then again I could make a warrior and have that (which would be more helpful)

Hope that helped...

Basically asthetics is everything. I hate how the Male draenai look and thus I cannot bring myself to lvl my shaman anymore.

IT's been a week since he posted his question, he has probably already made his decision. As a rule I generally dont post on anything that hasn't been posted on in a couple days, unless I am bumping something.

I picked a human female paladin for RP reasons. I have kind of a backstory for all my characters and I needed a class to go with one of the characters when I rolled her.

My first ever character and main is a male human paladin. I decided on that because dwarves are **** ugly.
