I've never seen a suggested felguard raid spec; I've always gone afflic and for a short time destro for raiding. Whenever anyone mentions felguards it's in reguards to leveling/grinding. I use my imp on boss fights, i'm wondering if speccing felguard is an option for trash and such, whether saccing or just using to kill things. I'm just looking to go felguard for a change, if I can make it work. Any suggestions?
there is actually, but i haven´t got it here with me. so check abit around on the internet. the thing about the felguard-raidspecc is, that it is best done with two t5 set-pieces and it requires alot of control over your pet.
apparently with 2.3 pets will always attempt to attack mobs from behind. this should make raiding with felguard alot easier.
The main problem with raiding with Felguard is that, once you get into the high-end dungeons (anything beyond Kara), there's an incredible amount of micromanagement you must do to keep them from dying to AoE or whatever else, and on some fights it's nearly impossible. Also, once other lcoks (destro especially) start getting the really good gear, you'll start falling behind.
That's not entirely true. Really the hard work would be done during Gruul's lair almost solely to keep the felguard out of cave ins and and out of HKM's Whirlwind. Mag's only has a cleave (attack from behind) and most proximity based AoEs don't effect pets (Water Tomb, Shatter, etc.). The 2 piece T5 bonus is basically running HoTs on your pet (At 800 DPS you'll be running 120 HPS on him). On fights where the felguard ISN'T viable, using him in a DS would also be beneficial. Overall it gained a lot of viability after the AoE change of 2.1 and the T5 change shortly after.
