Definitely sounds awesome. It's just too bad I dont have enchanting. I just dropped skinning for engineering (got my eyes on that new mount :P) and the only one I have left is LW. I might get LW to where I want it with some gear and drop it, but other than that I dont see it. Anyway, awesome guide :)

Even moderately outgearing the instance at 70 renders Hurley Blackbreath, Ribbly Screwspigot, the Bartender and Flamelash a total joke (though the first 3 of these don't always drop a blue, Flamelash has an Epic on his loot table... even though Nexus are cheaper than non-epic ench mats on my server, he's ****-easy to take).

Hmm, or maybe, as an 'early' epic, it doesn't de into a Nexus...

All epics DE into nexus or void crystals, that was changed a while back. As for the boss choices, this is what I've found to be optimal. Every single boss in the instance can be soloed (I've done them all as Mutilate with worse gear than I have now). The other bosses just take too much time, or require downtime afterward. The ones I chose do very little damage and die rather quickly. The summoner's tomb was taken because it's two shards for about 2 minutes, which is pretty good. It's a nice change from the mad dash through the instance too, so it's not so boring.

What is the earliest that it is even worth attempting this. I know I can't do this at 40 obviously, but would it be worth attempting at say 65, or is it something where you need to get to 70 then take a couple weeks updating gear, then go ahead and give it a shot.

Thanks for the guide though, I'll keep it bookmarked for whenever I reach the point where it is worth trying.

Doable at 65, but not the summoner's tomb. You could swap in Plugger instead (which could be soloed at 60 in azeroth blues), but your overall gold/hour rate will be a good bit lower. Still respectable, but lower.

Working on getting a better video to show how fast this can be done with decent gear (everything I'm wearing is from arenas or kara, still no SSC/TK loot from my new guild).

[Edit] At BRD now, working on the video.

[Edit2] Got a pretty good video, about to edit it and upload it. The run took 12:15 from zoning in to looting the summoner's chest. Another 20 seconds or so is required to reset and restart, so it's not exactly optimal. Been a while since I did this, but the video is good enough to show in great detail exactly how I do it.

Thanks Nooblestick, can't wait to see it. Of course I need to gain about 30 levels and raise my enchanting up but I still look forward to watching it.

Sounds good, but doesnt the market get flooded with shards? Plus, these are pre-BC shards, and I can't think of a reason *that* many people would be buying them.

Though, from what I remember during my days playing on Mannoroth, gold wasnt hard to make at all.

Nice post Nooblestick!

I too am looking at dropping LW for enchanting and this may be the thing that tips the scales. However I have a 70 Druid who chants and I will try him out. (Balance druid so not nearly the DPS of my 70 Rogue) I doubt I will get up to the Gold/Hr you described but it will be fun to test out.

Cheers!

On my low pop server I perfected this on, yes, I flooded the market in a few days. It stabilizes pretty quickly, though. The shards sell pretty well because they're used in a lot of enchants still. 15/25 Agility, 150 HP to chest, and all the old twink stuff.

To those thinking about dropping a profession and picking up enchanting to do this, I thought I'd let you know my experiences getting enchanting to 225. Now keep in mind your server and situation may very.

I was a 40 rogue (gained 2 levels since) I ran Deadmines 5 times and dis-enchanted absolutely every green and blue item I got. This put me at 48 enchanting, some of the stuff you will have to hold on to till you hit 25 enchanting (which you'll probably hit on your second run, maybe start of 3rd). I've read that you can hit 50 solely through dis-enchanting but not higher. I don't know if that is the case or not. With all items I got from dis-enchanting + about 60g, I was able to hit 225 enchanting.

I still have 14 small glimmering shards that I got from dis-enchanting some of the blues in Deadmines, and some other random dusts. On my server that will make me back some of that 60g.

All of this took me about 7 hours spread over the weekend, remember I was 40 at the time, you could do this faster I'm sure, and if you plan it out better you can cut more time.

So, if you are at a level where soloing BRD is possible, you'll make up the money it takes to get enchanting to 225 in an hour more than likely.

I'm broke now though lol, so that's as far as I'll be taking enchanting for now.

question :

if you position a lower lev enchanter at the beginning of the instance and set master loot, can you assign the loot to that enchanter ? OR does he need to be near the drop ?

Needs to be close to the drop, the exact distance is a mystery to me.

Also, the video has not been forgotten, but the video editing software I'm using isn't exactly user friendly, and I'm very new to this.

Still haven't forgotten, it just turns out that I suck at this kind of thing, and my time is extremely limited. I recently joined a raid guild, so I'm trying to keep 100% attendance for as long as I can. Raids start about an hour after I get off work, and end about an hour before I go to bed, so I don't have a lot of time to fiddle with this.

Question: On the way to phalanx, what's the point of activating the controls? I've done it everytime, but I'm just wondering why.

You can't cross the bridge unless you do that. The giant gate you walk through is the bridge you run across on the way to Phalanx (not the one just before the bar, the one about a minute after you hit the controls).

As for the video, it's being uploaded now. I'll post again when it's up.

Video's up. No fancy music or anything, I might make a better video one day, higher quality and with a soundtrack. Not a huge priority right now, though.
