I'm not even drunk... I don't know what hole on my body this came out of, though.

I think I'll name it... Steve. Steve or 'Suck and Blow.'

*edit* sorry wrong build linked.... maybe I am drunk *edit*

Is there a point to this vaguely coherent ramble?

SM / Ruin ? old 60 raid spec ?
#4 Oct 11 2007 at 10:48 AM Rating: Decent
It looks...oddly versatile...

I'd take a few points out of Suppression and stick em in Imp Imp though. You must be running around with him for Dark Pact.

I can't image how I'd play that, however. Dot up and hammer with SBs? Same as Aff with more effect, but finish with Shadowburn? I dunno. Odd.

You freak. ;o)

Couldn't get Ruin and Dark Pact before.

Max Distance (36 m): Shadow Bolt (if unseen), Curse of Shadow, Siphon Life, Corr, Shadow Bolt, (they on you by now, or at least close), Shadow Burn, Drain Life, Deathcoil, Shadow Bolt, Fear then Amped CoEx (if DC wasn't broken early), Shadow Bolt, Shadow Burn, Drain Life, Shadow Bolt x?. DP DP DP DP DP.

Min Distance (0m): Deathcoil, Fear, Corruption, CoA, Siphon Life, Immolate, Drain Life (if life down), Shadow Burn, Shadow Bolt, Improv...

If you're hit while low hp/m you can use DC + Amped Ex to break out a bit and get a bit more HP back, run opposite of them while DPing and then either pull em in with a few dots and Drain life or push em out again with another Fear.

Too hard to actually do this rotation bullcrap, there's too many situations versus too many different enemies... Point is you can get the full effect of Drain Life and use it well with the effects of SM, PLUS get excellent SBurn and SBolt DPS.

Maybe I'll try it out of boredom =)

Would you trade 3% of your total Intel, for a 36% stronger Corruption?
I would.

I wouldn't.

Empowered Corruption doesn't give an additional 36% damage, it increases the +Spell and +Shadow you effectively have when you cast Corruption.

This build would be Stamina and +Shadow based, but in a build like this every hit counts. This is not meant to be a raider in which case I would say Emp Corruption all the way, this would be a PVP build centered around the flash damage created by SBolt and SBurn while the enemy is already worried about being DoTed up.

Corruption is balls-awesome, but it's not the primary source of damage for this Lock and adding an additional 36% of additional spell damage (which would be more along the lines of 12-18% more damage for 1 spell) would not be worth sacraficing the 15%Mana increase to your Imp, which is your mana battery.

I am confused then, if your wanting to pvp, why have your imp out? isnt the felguard/succy far superior to the imp? and if its for pvp, why do you need darkpact?
Forgive me, I'm not understanding your style of playing, and I need to understand for discussion's sake.

Darkpact is nice because instead of taking you own health (can be deadly in pvp) you take your minion's mana instead. so Darkpact when you're low on mana and fear not of losing that health in the process.

Now, why the Imp? he has decent mana regen, he's set to passive so he doesn't use his mana on his own, he also has the very nice stam buff.

Felguard is nice, but can be taken out of the battle by nearly any class. Succy has limited uses.

In pvp, if I run out of mana ... I'm pinching myself. Well, it does happen, but it's not what I spec for.

Not every PVP situation starts off exactly how you wanted it.

Even in 3v3 5v5 BG it's necessary to hop from around from target to target and be prepared to handle people even when you have low hp/mana. In WPVP it's often even worse, especially if you're ganked while doing something else.

As for the Imp... In my opinion he is the best Pet for pure Stat increase to the Warlock. DP is VERY potent, as much mana as LT but no Health drained. His STA is also a really nice compliment to a playstyle like this. I do appreciate the Felpup for assisting in anti-caster situations, but this Lock is by no means restraint to anti-caster like some Destro builds, nor will you *rely* on the Hound's devour magic. Succy is relatively useless other than her Seduce, and I find it hard to keep on when the diminishing returns grow on a spell thats easily resisted and high mana cost to begin with, not to mention any damage breaks it. Felguard is good, indeed, for PVP... now how many Felguard Locks do you see actually PVPing? A few, and some work it well, but that's called a Demo lock and you have to spec pretty damn far into Demonology to get him... XD The imp works almost entirely as a Buff and Mana Generator, as he never enters combat and can not even be attacked by the enemy.

Relying heavily on spells like Shadow Burn and Deathcoil, by the way, is not a great way to go around full of mana all the time. Imp would come in handy.

i gotta say i like this build a lot. i have chosen warlock becuz its has both crits and still nice running around (instant) spells. altho i never rlly liked the pet so much i use in pve as a tank all the time. for PvP this look pretty nice to me, becuz like some1 else alrdy mentioned ur pet gets taken out of combat a lot. definetly in Wpvp when u get jumped. as im still lvling i gonna go for the Felguard for PvE, but i'll will rlly consider this vuild at 70=)
