Running MT on my hunter, trying (for the 4th time) to do that escort quest (1st time I didnt know where it was, second time group broke up half-way through, third time group wiped too many times on boss, 4th time - this one - group broke up right after boss and didnt go back). Anyway, on to my story...

After the second circle room, the one where the escort starts, the tank says "ig2g l8r" and leaves the group. Yep, just before the boss room. So we're looking for a fifth (rather, I am) and one of the guys says "can the pet tank this?" I said "Idk, this boss is pretty hard." "Lets try it anyway!" So I pick up the lock in the LFG and say "I doubt this will work...lets go!"

We wiped on the first attempt, but our mage was a 70 in purples and blues so we figured he could just take any adds that spawn. Well, I ended up using res pet twice, I got combat rezed by the druid, and at the very end of the fight I'm the only one left and I kill the prince as the adds take me out. It was pretty sweet.

So I pretty much just wasted your 2 minutes with this post, but I hope it can be a good anecdote for the future.

Tanked murmer in shadow labs with my pet today.. im mm/sv spec also.. but arcane resistance and scorpid sting can do alot to keep murmer from killing your pet..

good old pedro resisted every sonic boom and then took about 3-4k damage from the mele damage of murmer..

but we had a great healer and beat murmer pretty fast using a pet ravager as a tank.. NOT TO SHABBY.

Uhh... I just tanked Herod with my pet.

I guess that's not very impressive.

I've noticed that when there are no melee targets in range of Murmur, you get that massive debuff that increases damage taken vs. Nature. Not Arcane. Maybe he only uses Nature damage after he does that debuff?

Because, you know, a Ravager with BM spec is going to have the armor rating of a poorly geared warrior, only with half the HP. When I was BM spec my boar (higher armor than a Ravager) had a 13k armor rating. Since I went SV/MM, it dropped to 10k.

I could go on and on and on about all the reasons relative to game mechanics that point to you being full of crap, you could just go read my responses to FangXLR in the threat about people not getting BM damage to get the gist of what I think about people coming here and making up stories that just make them look silly.

of all bosses to tank, this one wouldn't be too bad with a good healer. no agro issue, just leave him in because he'll automatically mitigate 50% of the aoe damage. I've seen tanks on this fight who couldn't figure out how to run in and out so the pet would almost be better.

Morris tanked Ikiss better than our main tank did. Between the two of them, they were actually able to 'hold' him.
