So I completed the lvl 50 priest quest except for the final turn in. Mainly because I'm not sure which item I should get;

[wowitem=20082]Woestave[/wowitem]
[wowitem=20006]Circle of Hope[/wowitem]
I'm full shadow and starting to put points into disc.
Currently I have
[wowitem=10836]Rod of Corrosion[/wowitem]
I'm definitely not getting the ring so the my choice is between the beads or the wand. The wand would add to my shadow dmg and the wand's dmg would increase due to my shadow abilities. The beads are a nice trinket but not sure I would use it that often. I know the wand would get upgraded in BC probably fairly quickly. Would the trinket be worth it or should I still go for the wand?

I can tell you that the wand DOES get upgraded in the OL almost right off the bat. I just can't remember which quest it was right now. I DO remember that the wand I got did 85-140 arcane damage, 1.9 speed and was about 80 dps. It also had +7 healing and int/stam I believe.
I'd be tempted to go for the beads, although I'd have to work hard to remember to use it to get the +healing out of it. That way, if you DO drop out of shadow to heal for some reason, you have a nice +healing stat at your disposal.

get the beads, they're the only thing you won't replace in outland almost completely off the bat. Infact, I still have mine in my bank, just can't bear to part with them :(

Well I hardly ever heal and when I do I can do without the beads. And like you said yours are sitting in your bank. The wand would last at least 8 levels and I would get a lot more out of them because I would use them constantly.
Well if you never heal then go for the wand, at 50 i was still healing every instance i went to :p
I went with the wand, it will serve you faithfully till you hit outlands....the beads....Replaced in Blood Furnace.
The beads used to be irreplaceable. They're still useful, but you can find early Outland items like Vengeance of the Illidari that will serve just as well--actually, VotI works for damage as well as healing, so it's slightly better. I'd still recommend taking the beads, but if you really want Woestave for leveling, go far it.
I took the wand.
