So I decided to ***** the epic flyer I was saving for. My old guild split, I transfered, and decided I'd save like 5000g+ before starting raiding again.

I hated it. I got to around 1700g and just stopped logging on my lock. I was playing alts, leveling my mage, doing anything not to farm. A few days ago I said ***** it, so I went back to tailoring/enchanting. Blew nearly all my gold on tailoring, a few enchants and like 5 gems, but I'm back at 350 tailoring with 2 pieces FSW, 2 pieces spellstrike (+bonus) and 2 pieces T4.

Pretty happy with my gear right now - http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Cenarius&n=Cerruption

Last things I want are 15 spell damage to bracers and the ring enchants (360 enchanting is gonna suck..). After that, work on some of my trash gear, I could use new gems there too, mainly some pure +damage stuff, because 205 spell hit is complete overkill on everything except raid bosses.

So yeah. Finally playing my lock again, it feels good. Doing the whole guild app thing now, so thats kinda boring waiting on a reply. But hopefully I'll get into some mid-level T5 content, and see Mt. Hyjal in a few months which has been my goal since I started BC raiding. Lots of promising guilds on my new server, but of course none of them are looking for dee pee ess.

Hi Mike

I want to try my hand at raiding but have no idea how to go about applying to guilds. My gear is pretty lame (FSW aside), I need to improve it, but don't know how, I need to boost my rep to buy it I guess. Maybe I need to do heroics? No clue as to how to do that either - do you need rep?

Looking for some post-70 guidance here.

Oh, and sorry to hijack your thread. :o(

Personally I'd have at least all blue gear to start kara. So I'd work on running all the 70 dungeons to replace those greens first. Keep running them until you're revered everywhere in my opinion, this will get you all your heroic keys.

Finish off your FSW gear, and socket/enchant everything properly.

Ok, cheers guys. Which 70 dungeons should I be running? I need to do all of Auchindon as it is, plus Shadow Labs (if that's the one at Serpent Lake)...and I need to get into Shattered Halls...NO idea where they is though.

As for rep (Horde side)...I have to be honest, I got no idea how to get that efficiently. Tips?

I ask a lot don't I...

-shadowlab is auchenidoun.
-shattered halls are on the hellfire peninsula
-grind you factionrep as soon as possible to exhalted,
because you can sell the runic thread (whatever it is called)
for some shiny gold.

As far as updating your armor outside of dungeons, there are many good craftable items besides FSW. Look into the girdle of ruination, and either the battlecast or spellstrike set. Those items should hold you until you start raiding. As for weapons, there is a nice staff that comes from completing the 5-man arena quests in Nagrand. I think thats the best one outside dungeons, where i replaced mine with the greatsword of horrid dreams in Shadow Labs and eventually the Blade of the Archmage by becoming exhaulted with Honor Hold (Alliance faction in Hellfire, pretty sure the Horde faction gives about the same stuff). However I highly suggest getting a few people and starting an arena team as soon as possible, the season 2 staff and dagger by far eclipses what you would get before SSC. (I may be wrong as I'm only in Kara, kinda haha)

When it comes to running dungeons, run em all. All the tempest Keep dungeons are lvl 70 and give Shat'tar rep, and the sooner you get the key for them the sooner you can do the 3/4 badge Mech. Shadow Labs in Auch gives rep for Lower City and drops 2 pieces of the Oblivion set. Try to cap the towers in Auch as the spirit shards give a nice ring and head piece (the Alliance do anyway). Steam Vaults gives Cenerion Expedition rep and Shattered Halls gives rep for the ones in Hellfire. Also do the PVP thing in Hellfire to boost your rep with them, should give you a little thing so you gain more rep inside the dungeons.

But stick to the lvl 70 dungeons for now, no use going to the Slave Pens to finish that quest you missed, instead grind to revered, get your key and do Slave pens on heroic and finish it that way, then your getting rep and might get a good drop compared to a lvl 62-64 drop had you done it on regular.

I think the best thing to do is to go onto your armory and use the find an upgrade option, then set your sights on how to get the upgrades you want.

Ex: Quagmirran's Eye looks cool, so I need to run Steam Vaults until revered, get my heroic key and then run Slave Pens for the last guy.

I hit revered with Coilfang, then ran Heroic SP daily, and SP only to get that trinket.
I hit exalted before it dropped. I wish you much, much better luck than I had getting it. It is a very nice trinket.

I got the trinket the first time i ran Heroic SP, however I ran Shadow labs endlessly into exhaulted only to get the greatsword of horrid dreams to finally drop the day before I became exhaulted with HH and got the Blade of the Archmage. Just luck of the draw.

Dont forget the KoT too. I ran Slab untill I hit almost exalted with LC for that Murmur sword while Continuum Blade is not much worse and you can get it by just completing the Kara key quest line really.

You went with aldor for some reason I see, but scryers rep could get you pretty nice trinket and ring.

Besides, you can unlock the skettis quest line quite easily on your own and there are always groups looking for ogrilas around too..... getting more cash wouldnt hurt I suppose :)
But you do need flying mount to get there. As a matter of fact you cannot run any TK instance if you dont have flying mount.

So basically in my opinion you still have lot to do before you should start considering raiding.

I agree, Sethy. It's WHAT I was stuck on. I've started the Kara attunement chain. I'm questing like mad around Netherstorm and SM Valley for the cash, drops and rewards. I need to find real time to run to run OL instances but don't have it at the moment.

Any suggestions on non-OL instances I should be running?

Oh, and I took up fishing. With Fishing Buddy it makes it a whole lot easier, not to mention that other AddOn that changes the noise when you get a catch. I can do it without looking now. :)
