lv 65-70 instance questionFollow

I am a lv 66 warlock spec'd 0/21/36 sacrificing the succy to gain the shadowbolt bonus. I wanted to know what would be the best spec to do the most damage while in instances from this level until I get to lv 70 raids and such.

Just last night I did CoS and spammed SB, but I kept aggroing-in part to crits. So I'm really looking to do the most damage possible, while keeping my aggro at or slightly below the tank in each instance if possible.

Thanks for your help.

Until you have the gear for it, a UA spec will probably be better. Keep up all your DoTs as often as possible with SBs in between. Due to Imp Drain Soul giving a 10% threat reduction and DoTs not critting this will help keep aggro off you. Once you have 25% Crit and are raiding with a good tank then the Destro build and SB spam start to be able to do more damage.

This seems to be what the other end-game raiding posters around her seem to somewhat agree on.

/agree with lathais. also it's best to have a pet out in instances. generally I find the sucubus to be the best choice due to the extra utility to the party from your crowd control.

ok, so i've decided that dotting up the enemy then spamming SB's is definitely what I should do, thanks for your help on that. But now I'm wondering if I should invest in Unstable Affliction as one of my dots, or not have that dot and instead invest the talent points into ruin, any thoughts?

There is probably a lot of discussion regarding ruin vs. UA, and if there is a proper thread somewhere that I could use to help me make a decision on, that would be just as helpful as any feedback I can get from someone.

Without at least 25% crit on your gear a UA build will outdamage a Ruin build.
