Question / Opinion: Does the haste proc off the BS mace make up for the decreased damage output from combat mace spec?
It would seem to me that a haste boost would give a decent dps boost, much the same way that an extra attack would. I really want to keep mace spec, and I see that a lot of end game maces are pretty nice (Sun King Rod, Swiftsteel Bludgeon). Although I doubt something like Swiftsteel would go to a rogue rather than a main tank or even offtank. =(

Lol. There was just a thread on this. This was never the case, and is not the case even MORE now that haste rating was nerfed. An extra attack > the small % of attack speed you get.
Damn, thats too bad. I guess my maces will have to be set aside for swords when raiding. Hopefully Spiteblade will drop and I wont have to get an S2 sword MH.
its not like maces are horrible... you shouldnt be WAY far behind using something like rank1 BS mace/s1 offhand compared to a swords spiteblade/rank2 BS sword

Maces actually WTFpwn in PvP. Hey, you can't have everything.
It all depends on what situation you're going to be in more often.
Mace spec = Teh Awesomesauce for PvP
Sword spec = Excellent for 5 mans and soloing.
Daggers = Raiding all the way (as you should be able to stay behind your opponent allowing for some much needed Backstabby goodness)

hey theo whats the link for that site that shows the ranked teams and their specs. I'm trying to look at the different feral specs in high end arena for my druid partner.
This is just my 2c but I loved combat maces. They had a nice proc on em which (at the time) I thaught would help my "survivability" as in taking less damage. I wasnt very smart back then, lol. In all honesty though, swords is most likely the best way to go. Hope this helps :)
