well skinning/LW combo works really well B/C you get to craft a lot of the end game gear that you will end up wearing (I.E. the Strength of the Clefthoof set)

Also a good choice is to be an elixer spec Alch/Herb (pots don't help as much as you can't use in bear/cat) for the 30min+ buffs.

Enchanting/JC would prolly work if you where really good with using the auction house and for all the BoP stuff you could do with is it would feacking rock but it would be terribly expencive.

Thats about all for crafting proffesions as far as I know.

My broken record advice to this question is do herbalism and skinning and sell everything you gather so you will never want for money. When you get to be high level, or maybe even not until the cap, look at the very nice items you can craft with leatherworking and alchemy, decide for yourself between the two, and then drop whichever gathering profession doesn't apply to pick up whichever crafting profession you're going to go with.

If you have a main, I'd suggest JC/mining. Not only is this good for getting tips at level 70, but you can use EVERY bop gem there is in the game. It's hard to get through the middle levels (mid 100s to mid 200s), but once you get past that it gets alot easier. I got 36 levels off thorium setting :)

Myeh.
Clefthoof set and stylin purple pimphat and everything through the levels are BoE -- save time and energy and money and just buy 'em all on the AH. I stubbornly leveled LW all the way to 361 even though I realized around 300 that it's a silly/losing proposition. Anything you can make, there's boatloads of LWs out there making it to level their own leatherworking and selling it on AH for less than that cost of the dang mats. Don't be on the wrong side of the equation.

Yes every other LW can make gear for druids that he'll be able to make, but in the late game it's easier to be able to make your own stuff, and there's plenty of things to skin in outlands that give LW items that can sell for quite a lot of money. And as with alchemy, there's always people that can make whatever elixir or flask you're after that you would be able to make if you went Alch/Herb.

So you're choice...Buffs or equipment.
I went with Skinning/Lw because some of the equipment you can make earlier on in the game can help you out a lot.

HA! The difference is you actually are a sage, whereas I just opened up that picnic basket in the Hinterlands that spawns nasty trolls not once, but twice.

my druid is going the skinning/leatherworking route but only because it is one of my alts i would suggest to any low level player to do 2 gathering prof's , why you may ask ? ,it is because most of us can find a leatherworker / jewelcrafter / ect. if you watch the auctions on a daily basis you will see made stuff selling for very low prices and the market being flooded on most servers , what makes gold for ease of play and choice or different armour/weapons is selling things like light leather , on my server around 1g50s a stack or copper ore at 2g+ a stack , herbs also sell well but at lower levels tend to be low prices for the easy to collect stuff

my other advice to new players would be to find a good friendly guild , see what professions they have and if good they will supply you with stuff for free or if not you supply them with the raw materials and most would be willing to craft for free

from level 10 to now level 21 i have been making gold not by selling my leatherworking stuff at auction but the spare leather and the cloth and greens i have been collecting

2 gathering professions. skinning and herbalism are the easiest and very profitable. My 62 druid paid back a 320G loan for his epic mount in 2 days in zangarmarsh just with herbalism alone (and killing stuff of course). With 320G you can just buy the entire 3 piece clefthoof set on my server. If you threw in skinning then the mats for the pieces are pretty much available in nagrand to farm easily. Mining is harder to skill up and not so prolific of pops as herbalism. But mining is much more profitable at lower levels. At some points bronze bars have been almost as expensive on the AH as thorium bars for some reason.
Summary: Herbalism for the gold and skinning for the gold and potentially the mats to make the higher sets. Use others skills who chose LW and reward them with handsome tips.
