Pvp lock specFollow

#1 Oct 09 2007 at 11:05 AM Rating: Decent
hey all, now ive read through the stickies and im just wondering what is viewed as the best spec for pvp. I know that most people would say that there is no best spec. I was a demo spec until lv 58 then I switched to aff to grind in outlands. I like both specs, is there any way to combine the two effectively?

sure there is. siphon life/soul link build are great for pvp. with a healer you can stay alive deal massive damage and whenever you can stay near full health while lifetapping is pretty much amazing. i don't have a build but i am sure someone will

The SL/SL build is probably what you are looking for. I've never use it and not too sure what it looks like but I believe it means Siphon Life/Soul Link. You lose the Felguard, but I prefer my Fel Hunter in PvP anyway, with Soul Link and ways to Drain you gain a ton of Survivability while still keeping alot of your power in Affliction, though you miss out on UA, IHoT and Dark Pact, I think Soul link is a viable substitute.

I suppose it would look something like this, though I'm sure others that actually use this build will come along and correct it.

amplify curse/CoEX is extremely useful in pvp, and should be picked up. 24/37 is a better spec, something like this

would be a lot better.

Until your felhunter goes OOM and you lose the match. Grab a point in mana feed or just handover wins to the other team, you're not 'outlasting' any teams healers when you can't devour and spell lock them.

Just an idea: Would it be wise (or is it even possible) to use lower rank of devour magic with the felhunter? This way felhunter wouldn't lose so much mana and enemies would still be losing their buffs (I assume that a lower rank devour removes the buffs as effectively as higher ranks).

Only problem would be if the felhunter would get killed by the Soul Link damage, but do you think this would be a real problem?

The tourny 5-vs-5 build is a Drain Life/Soul Link/Shadowburn

While I agree this build is very effective, it's not necessarily the best. It has been proven to be very good though. Apparently, this is what the 5-vs-5 Warlock tournament winners used, give or take a few non-important Demonology talents.

Decreased damage, emergency shield, great Life Drain, moderate burst.

Yes. Pet scaling isn't scaled very well in terms of survival, and players WILL TARGET YOUR PETS!

If you're hardcore PvP, then give it a shot.
