Low-Level PvP mana issues :: Free Realms

Hello everyone!
My mage is slowly growing up, already lvl 28. Now my wife and I are waiting for our frend to catch up to us so we are hanging out at the battlegrounds. Here is my profile: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Dragonmaw&n=Xodok

As you see I still have pretty crappy gear (mostly greens) but all of the gear I do have gives me Int and Sta.
In Battlegrounds I do some CC and dps. For CC I use Frost Nova, CoC (try to land it on more than 1 enemy) and poly. For DPS I use Frost Bolt, Fire Blast and Arcane Missiles (for runners).
So said all that - I end up blowing all my mana away in a matter of seconds. Can you tell me if I need to be getting better gear or I just have to wait for higher levels of mage to perform better on the BGs?

Mages are pretty good pvpers in higher levels. This is when you get some of your better talents as well, non-coincidentally. Hunters and twinks dominate the battlegrounds at your level, so if you want to stay there, have fun, but don't take getting killed to heart. And remember to stick with others (this is true later on as well). You're a ranged damage dealer, try to stay ranged and deal damage. Use instant cast spells and short cast spells. I really only use arcane missiles against other casters (especially if my counterspell is on cooldown), as AM is a mana hog. You don't have a ton of mana in bgs till much later. Make use of terrain (you can shoot through rocks, where others cannot see you).
