I am starting to get better geared. I finally cracked +1700 heals, I picked up Herbalism instead of mining and now have unlimited flasks, elixirs and pots. Compared to the other Holy Paladins in guild I blow them away often with 4-5% more active healing done with 10% less overhealing, they both outgear me. Our shaman is probably equal to me with his Earth Shield factored in. The druids I beat by a fair margin, though they do well for themselves.

Our two main Holy Priests though always end up winning the meters though. Why? Because they cast circle of OOM, and spam their other spells with no thought of mana conservation and then scream for an innervate from our drewds.

I hate em! Stealing my top healing spot Smiley: glare

Eh our priests take all the innervates too, heck we've even allowed shadow priests to get them for some reason. I think I've only been innervated twice ever.... Honestly I don't make a big deal about it though.

Wait...priests still heal? Shouldn't they all be on mana battery duty so that the paladins can do the real healing? Smiley: laugh

Innervating a shadowpriest is one of the best things u can do.. it's mana return to the whole group with dmg and healing.

Innervating a healing priest > Innervating a pala.

How much mana regen do you have out of combat?

#5bodhisattva, Posted: Oct 09 2007 at 12:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'd never want an innervate, with my mana efficiency I really don't need it.

Giving an Innervate to a Paladin is a terrible idea anyway. You have 0 Spirit and should have 0 Spirit (well, as little as you can get, anyway) because you get no bonuses from it 90% of the time, whereas Priests/Druids get 15% - soon to be 30% - of their Spirit mana regeneration even while casting. This also means that when the innervates do go out they'll regenerate much, much more mana than you will given the same Innervate... especially when they also get toys like this to burst their mana regeneration even further. Geared properly and with that trinket, Priests can go from nearly empty to a full tank.

So suck it up!

Let me ask you a question.... why are you concerned with overhealing? And what level are you raiding at? Kara? SSC? Hyjal/BT?

My pally has 4/5 T5 at the moment.... +1718 healing 9237 hp and 11809 mana unbuffed. Also... 31% to crit with holy (thats including talents) And I can tell you right now... I am usually in the top 3 on every single raid I am on... in both healing.... and overhealing. It's very difficult to manage the overhealing because raid buffed I'm at about 35% crit with holy... and I crit a ********* Apart from divine favor... I can't control when I crit... and for example...on the leo fight in SSC when Im healing the lock tank on the demon phase of the fight.... I am not worried nor even thinking about overhealing.

True in general you want to try and avoid it... but the people that come off a successful raid and worry about overheals are foolish. Healing keeps people alive.... and thats what I do... keep people alive. The paladin mana efficiency is the highest in the game for healing... PERIOD. There isn't a single healing spell out there as effective for the mana cost than flash of light. If you have enough +crit and mp5 you will never have to worry about running out of mana.

Now... having said that....what's more important than overhealing management? Potion management.... Too many people wait until they are out or nearly out of mana to pop a potion and chew thru the mana it gives them in a hurry. In the future... especially since you are an alchemist now.... try popping your first pot when you hit 70% mana.... then by the time the cd is off the pots... you'll be able to use another... etc. Most bosses have 10 min enrage timers anyway... and as a holy pally if you manage your pots well and the raid isnt suffering from small dps.... youll never run out of mana... never need an innervate.... and also never be out of the top 1-3 of the healing charts

Hope this helps :)
