Freeze trap - would you swap...Follow

As we all (should) know, Freeze trap as a form of crowd control is different to most other CC as it's stationary and it can be used to keep more than one Mob at a time.

Would you swap the current freeze trap for either of these options?

A. Freeze trap has no cooldown but only a single target can be trapped at a time, if another trap is triggered, the first trap breaks.

B. Freeze trap removed in favour of the spell 'Freeze' cast by the hunter. Effect is the same and the spell has a melee range with no cooldown. Only one enemy can be under this spell.

Comments welcome.

Where as this would be nice, it would completely negate our ability to Double/Tripple/Quadruple Trap. I for one would never want this. The ability to keep 1 mob CC'd at all times is easy enough as is. Granted this would help with resists, since it has no cooldown, and you can instantly pop up another one. Although personally speaking, I like being able to keep 2 mobs on ice for an extended period of time. I believe that the ability to trap more then 1 mob at a time makes us different and more versatile then most classes who can only CC 1 mob at a time.

To me this takes away the aspect of being a hunter. We're meant to lay out traps in preperation of an attack, but to be given a spell that does this in melee range seems a tad off. It just doesn't fit the normal hunter profile. You'd also have to run up to anything you want CC'd. Might as well just send a pet and off-tank it.

I think the current mechanics of our traps is fine as of the moment. It requires more timing then anything, and adds a little bit more fun to the game in terms of being able to CC 1 or multiple mobs at your leisure. However I'm also a CC freak, so being able to trap more then 1 mob at a time is just what I'm looking for.

The greatest change they ever made to our traps is the ability for them to be used while in combat. Double Trapping was possible back in the day when you could only do them out of combat, but Tripple Trapping definately could not be done, no matter how good of a hunter you were. The Feign Death cooldown alone was to much, and it'd be impossible to get out that third trap in an adequate amount of time.

Just my 2 cents though~

I see what you mean, trapping two mobs is something no other class can do well, but my main problem with the current trapping is the "heartbeat resist" meaning the traps are unreliable.
They seem to break early every other trap which can cause big problems, I think this is the least desirable aspect of hunter crowd control.

I agree, a Hunter is all about preparation, the Hunter is always prepared.

I think our traps should be all or nothing rather than having a chance to resist every few seconds.
I'd much rather just have a slightly higher resist rate than not be sure how long the trap will last!

Learn to use what abilities you have.

in short, no. I like my traps as they are. They take a bit of skill and timing to use them to their utmost effectiveness.

B. would make trapping pretty close to impossibly dangerous in heroics. You want to lay your trap and be on the opposite side of it from your trap target, so that if the trap is resisted you don't get chopped into bits before you have the chance to do anything else.

Not sure how I feel about A.
