5/5 spirit tap
2/2 healing focus (i recommended this from your other post)
spend point as haphazardly as you want (but i recommend all shadow)

at level 40, respec shadowform:

Go shadow. Holy is slow and in the low levels doesn't really make a difference anyways. You'll still be able to heal as shadow if needed.

you can safely ignore the two of them if you wish. you've your friend rogue for dps so you can concentrate on keeping the two of you alive. shadow is a good idea when focusing on solo play as spirit tap only comes into play if you get the last hit. (ie your spell/damage ect kills the mob) however as you are leveling choose your path more damage or more effective healing. it doesn't matter until 40 when you can get shadowform. and even then it doesn't matter as much as you think as the gear pre bc are + healing or +damage and healing. not + spell damage. just keep an open mind and remember. The most annoying thing is watching everyone else fight as you lie there dead.

27% extra damage is 27% extra damage, and it helps a LOT. Shadow is *the* leveling build. Holy and disc are possible, but significantly slower (though you have the advantages of easier healing and more survival). In a 2-man group, I'd still suggest going shadow. Even not shadow, I'd get 5/5 Spirit Tap.

That said, even if you plan on healing, I'd suggest shadow. You learn your limitations very quickly as a shadow healer, and I've found that, in general, priests who spent lots of time as shadow are significantly better healers than those who leveled as holy, provided the shadow priests group a lot. Priests who leveled as holy have an easier time scraping by on subpar healing, while shadow healers are more consistently challenged, managing the right spells at the right time while also maintaining the right levels of mana.

not really.

I recently switched to a mainly disc build and so far I am loving it (43 right now), I can pull a couple mobs at a time without fear of dying, hell I accidentally got 4 adds yesterday in tanaris ... f'n pirates ... and survived just fine.

5/5 spirit tap and 2/2 in healing focus then the rest in disc is what I am using.

My fights consist of:

-PW:S on me
-Touch of weakness on me

Open with Holy Fire
SW:P
Smite
Wand til dead, maybe toss in another smite and refresh SW:P if needed.

I have basically 100% mana at the end of the fight and can just chain pull non stop.

I have no doubt that shadow will kill mobs faster but IMO you give up alot of survivability. I know the world screams shadow for leveling but just be aware other alternatives are feasable. I was a pain to kill in the BG's too and managed to top the healing meters on several WSG rounds.
