Just wanted to know if there were actually any troll mages out there or if they are all occupied being somebody else? Only reason i ask is ive only ever played alliance so the only time i see the horde is in BGs and i cant recall ever seeing a troll mage, plenty of undead mages though. Just wondering if there was a reason for this.
Maybe its because pvp favours the undead with their racials and so the troll mages arnt really interested in BGing. Just seems like their taboo.
Just say your in a group and their are two options for the mage spot, undead and troll, their the same in every way barring the race, which one do you take?

Personally I would go with undead for the racial buffs. Will Of The Forsaken (WOTF) is arguably the best racial in the game and rocks, especailly in PVP.

Other than that just go for the race you like the look of most. Personally I went for a Blood Elf mage.

Troll for PVE, Undead for PVP. Berserking helps a bit with the DPS (and since he should be connecting to a shadow priest in raids so not so much issue with mana), but WotF is very helpful with survivability.

I like my Undead for the wotf and cannabalize. wotf is like a free pvp trinket.

I find Cannibalize a great PvE ability as well.
But, yes, I see troll mages all the time, just as often as undead mages, in the PvE world. Berserking works for casters, and people love playing trolls on my RP server.

One of the more know Horde guilds on my server is The Darkspear.
80+ active Trolls, 1 Orc.

I am a Troll mage. I took it because I wanted to play a mage, and seeing how my highest toon went to level 16 at the time I rolled the mage, Durotar was the area I knew best (I did not have TBC, so a Belf was out of the question).

My troll mage is 70 and having fun. I do a lot of PvP and I picked troll, well, because I don't like the look of the arm bone sticking out on an undead and because it was before TBC came out (no BE). Since you can't be orc or tauren.... I am a troll by default. The +damage against beasts is nice, the berserking is stacked with my trinkets when I cast them, but not sure how much faster it actually makes you cast.
