Well im currently combat swords 19/42, and its nice damage and my gear is alrite but i recently got the dagger from Prince. And i was wondering if i can get some advice should i try mutilate for raiding and i know damage will decrease but it seems fun and i like the pvp and arena with it any ideas or opinions and wat are stats i need for mutilate to do max damage i was thinking of a build also 42/20 or 42/20/0.

Well, I think mutialte is a very fun build. That's just me though. I think of it as the jack of all trades build. It can do everything decently with no real favoritism, whereas combat is mainly PvE focused.

Definitely, if you want max damage, go with Mut combat. If I remember correctly DW spec has ~7% better damage than Mut sub.

On a side note, I would like to point out that Mut combat would be either 41/20 and 42/19. An extra point in there wouldnt hurt though :P

Hope this helps :)

both have comparable damage to those who play them cassually. But mutilate requires positioning to achieve the damage.

that said combat can get a bit repetitive. Mutilate definately is more fun.

Thing is that with mutilate you'll always wonder if those last 5 points will fit better in this or that talent. Combat seems to fit together quite seemlessly.

Actually thats just me.

Mutilate is definitely the more fun build, but you do get a decrease in your dps on long encounters...

But, I did go to down High King Maulgar with my PvP Muti spec, and was still within the top 5 dps ( ok not great but still there ), so muti is still viable if you want to give it a shot.

Combat is much higher DPS than Mut. Even combat daggers is higher damage, in terms of raiding.

I was amazed when I saw how fast Muti combat drops opponents in PVP. I can't speak for raiding, but for non arena PVP, I really like muti/combat over combat swords (which is pretty boring imo).

What sword were you using before you picked up malch? Combat swords does do more DPS than 41/20 mute on average. There are some fights where mute can definitely hold it's own and even give you advantages - typically stuff with a lot of run in/out stuff where you come in with full energy (prince depending on who he shadows, gruul, etc..). I leveled as sub mute than went combat at 70, playing that up until we hit hydross (a lot of kara, gruul, and mag). I've also used it on most of the boss fights in SSC just because I was PvPing with it and didn't feel the need to respec for farm bosses. 41/20 can truly put out great damage if you have the gear for it (two good daggers), and pay attention to your finisher cycle. 2 piece T4 definitely helps too... as those 3 extra seconds of SnD come in very handy at times. I switched to combat daggers (a build I had played extensively at 60) and was rather disapointed at the lack of a DPS increase over mute. The change to swords yielded a decent DPS increase... but combat daggers was on par with mute in my experience. I was using S1 shanker + malch for 41/20, S1 shanker/shiv set for c-daggers, and then I bought a S2 slicer the first day S2 came out and didn't look back. When I get back into raiding and well just overall playing again I'm going to check out mute again. To my knowledge there are no dagger rogues in our raiding core right now, so I could probably grab the dagger from vashj when it drops pretty easily... We can easily kill VR + hydross with a DPS or two missing anyway... so I don't have to worry about that being a problem either... sounds like it might be time to go back to mute!

Sorry for that one large paragraph haha... I'm a bit burnt out from all the exams last week... I no longer do paragraph form!
