I play on a PVP server, and I often find myself ambushed by multiple allies for no apparent reason. Before you say it, this is not a QQ session. In fact, I rather enjoy the world PVP aspect of the game. I was once jumped by a 70 warrior, and I loved nothing better than kiting him all the way from Hammerfall and toying with him :) It's satisfying. But lately, most of the ones doing the ganking are other hunters... and it's not a single kill, it's an all-out camp-fest.

What I am proposing is that, as hunters, we establish a code of honor. As hunters (and darn good ones),we need to realize that we are a team. We have the same bond with our pets, understand things in the same way and, as I have discovered from listening to North and several others, seem to have an eye and appreciation for sentimentality and beauty, even in a game.

So... the next time you see another hunter, think of yourself. Think about the way you stalked your first pet and selected it from the crowd for some special purpose... the way you formed a bond and grew strong together, hunted together, became not two but one. Before you fire off the first shot, take that into consideration.

Who's with me?

I love you too, Aethien. :)

Heh...

I just find WoW an interesting social experiment in dehumanization and creation of the "other." Because we can no longer communicate with the opposing faction, many seem to develop a hostile attribution bias and assume the worst. Either that, or I'm thinking too much. :-P

thats it, hit the booze!

trolls make me think of Finntroll, Fintroll is all about booze, booze and eating christians. oh and ofcourse folk metal, and booze.
Although Korpiklaani is good too, seriously, even if you dont like the music it makes you want to drink.... a lot... especially Korpiklaani (and they want you to drink alot, its what their music is meant for)

Omfg pagan metal fans are gonna camp me.
Ohh and btw, we and druids should not peeveepee against each other because we have track humanoids and that will result in a camp fest.

Playing on a PVP server, I to have found the sentimentality and beauty one can only find in the eyes of a dying gnome as an arrow pierces into the back of his skull. The sudden cry that is let out followed closely by the deafening silence makes me feel at one with nature. As I walk over to his body I can't help but feel joy knowing that I have contributed to the population control of the alliance. The lifeless body is so at peace, so sincere. The expression on the now still corpse is one of surprise and yet calmness. He never saw it coming...

I do, everyday. I think of how gimped I used to be and that my auto-shots at best would only hit for 300 instead of 600. I think of how crappy I felt when I couldn't even get a 1k crit. I remember the many hunters who would hunt me down for sport as I tried to level up. However I also remember the tactics I've sustained during my "training" period, that have help me overcome some of the many obstacles one can only find on pvp servers. I think of how most alliance hunters use their "I Win" button well before the pet is even close to me. I laugh at the fact that when the pet gets to me I just Feign Death and it returns to the master, and by the time he realizes it and sends the pet back, the effect is already gone. To tell of my adventures would take a lifetime, but to feel my arrows piercing your heart would take but a second.

lol, simple math here

ex: 1 million people go to allakhazam and read this,
1/4 are hunters. = 250 000 hunter read this,
10 million play wow, 4 million are hunters, 2 million on pvp server, 100000 on ur server, so just tpo hint i dont think this does much, but personaly i love killing other hunter after they abush me to laugh at them :)

so few people read this that it wouldn't make a difference even if we agreed to it.

I enjoy killing other hunters period because I already know that most of them just can't stand up to me. Am I looking for a fair fight? NO! Neither do I care if someone wants to cry about it and call me names.

That said, I never camp another person unprovoked because I don't wish to make the game all out unenjoyable for anyone.

Heh, hell no, when I was on a PVP server, I was ganking whenever possible, flying through Terrokar on my Flying Mount, jumping off in midair and 1 shotting a Preist or Mage before they even knew I was coming, or I hit the ground.

Good times, and I miss them...

God I wish I could transfer back...

This made me think of last night that while on my hunter (Raynebow) she was 31, 32, and 33 while this guy bothered me. I was doing the SH*t load of troll quests (tusks, totem, blood necklace, ears....) I was in STV and there was a very, very, VERY bad 37 NE hunter. (Wish I wrote his name down) He was TRYING to gank just about everybody. 30 - 34 and he tried to down you. TRIED but he never got ya. It was embarrassing. He'd only auto shoot. He literally sucked a$$. I don't know what he was specced, but I didn't see any aimed shots come my way, and his pet didn't use intimidation. He came after me first as a 31, and I thought I was toast. I was in the middle of drinking, and I thought awe great... he shot me and off went rayne. I noticed his shots were strange. He had about 3 seconds between each one, and I thought hmmm... and unloaded, we both quaffed a pot, but using intimidation at the right moment saved my butt. Later while on the panthers and raptors (at 32) he waited til I tapped a mob and started hitting me, I turned and downed him. Again at 33 he tried to get me and woulda had me seeing as how I had two raptors on me, but he seemed to not see the 70 in front of me farming leather.

I'm all for leaving certain classes alone... but they never treat me the same, so I down them if provoked.

I don't know I just down whoever is red and +- 5 levels from me I don't really care if they are hunter, rogue, priest, tankadin or whatever. It's red, it's in my face, it's dead. though i look at the guys who are green type /sigh /depressed /bye and walk away. when you do this while stealthed (as a rogue or druid) they get really paranoid. especially if you sap them first. you can get a higher level to come over as they scream for help by doing this especially if you stalk them a bit and resap them every now and then.
