wow web stats? (or a post that shouldnt be here)Follow

I have a few questions on the WoW Webstats clients. The people that are responsible for this "add on" have no clue how to write directions and in summation need to go kill themselves.

Anyone have any clue on how to use it that can explain it in slightly less technical terms? I may just be too tired to understand what they're trying to say with their technical rocket science talk that I have no desire to think about right now.

I have a combat log (I'm using CL saver right now). I'm able to import 'sample' combat logs, but I'm not getting how to actually get the log to form as I need actors? and some other *********

Any and all help is appreciated.

I know this doesn't relate to warriors hence my post name, but it seems the more helpful people are the ones in this forum here. I thought I'd give it a shot :D

At the start of when you want to start recording (I start it when I zone into the raid), just type /combatlog in-game. Type /combatlog again when you're done.
The log is now located under WoWFolder/Logs/WoWCombatLog. In order to mess with the log, but MUST have WoW closed. Keep in mind the combatlog just keeps getting added to, so if you don't rename or trim files you can end up with massively long combat logs. I manually go in and clip out what I don't want by briefly reading through the areas I know need clipped (like the few minutes of PvP between Gruul and The Eye, for example).
Now open up WWS, and import the log (I always rename it before importing, and then keep it in storage in case I ever need it again). Go to the actors list, have it compile a list of actors, and then go through and make sure that a) there's no one there that shouldn't be (if so, delete that one), and b) all players are actually listed as players (for some reason, a couple mages, pallies, and druids always show up as Mobs for me). Fill out the first tab as well with the basic info if you want.
Then, host the log (you must have a WWS login before being able to do this). This pops up the web site. You can keep the logs anonymous (iirc it just makes all the names are randomized into something else), or make it public (the real player names).

aha, that is excellent :D

I was having a lot of troubles with actors earlier, but I believe I have it figured out now.
