Hunters are still very viable in end game as DPS and a buff support depending on your build, but do what you want to do man, there is no such thing as a useless class, besides if you get in a guild with friends, they'll let you into the raid so don't sweat it.

Without that particular nerf - Oh My GOD I hate that bloody word. It's balancing Classes you bloody twats! - we would easily be sporting enough Attack Power and Crit to outDPS absolutely anything, and the End-Game balance would be so skewed it wouldn't even be funny.

If we still got the AP to AGIl we used to i'd have close to 3K AP (with horrible gear)

I shudder to think of the destrution that could cause.

As it is though, with even decent gear, you can be near the top if not holding the top of the dps in a raid as a hunter. Not to nock MM, i do love the versitility of the shots, but I've always achieved a near disgusting amount of damage in 5 mans, as well as raids. And as I've said, horrible gear.

So, if spec'd and geared right, a hunter can be more than a welcome addition to any group.

Not to mention or CC is easily on par with other classes, given the fact that you know how to chain trap, which isn't very difficult. We have pets that can save a squishies ***.

but in the long run, it's up to you. just don't let anyone tell you your useless in end game.

Your friends are smoking crack.

That aside, I feel it is really important to say that you need to play what YOU enjoy :) If you've enjoyed leveling your hunter, why abandon it? Yes, the class is viable as an end-game DPS class. No, we're not always the most sought-after party members because people have encountered huntards (and also, they underestimate our CC potential).

Will rolling a hunter be t3h l33t pwnzorz to where you can easily crush your friends in a duel? Probably not. If you're skilled, you'll be one of the deadliest (and most versatile) quests out there.

If you do your job right you can be consistently top DPS in raids not too mention other things we bring, such as misdirect/pulling, CC. So don't listen to some rumors.

1: everyone who says a hunter can and will consistently top the dps charts is stupid.
A hunter wont beat an equally skilled and geared rogue, lock or mage for dps.
Although hunters can get very close and will help the raid a lot with Misdirections, traps (early kara and Magtherdion, dont know after that), group/raid buffs and high dps, we wont be on top of the dps charts.

before everyone starts posting their dps charts, wwstats logs and whatever, i didnt say we cant get on top, i say hunters will be outdps'd by equally skilled and geared locks/rogues/mages.

SV hunters with 3k+ AP, 35% crit and sick mana effeciency all unbuffed, what do you mean overpowered?

Dear God that would be so fun. Then raidbuffing me and go hit Curator for some crit stacking.

You worry about endgame after few weeks of playing?
Do you have fun playing your toon or you just want to get to zomg raiding?
If your answer is yes to both, reroll holy priest, prot warrior or pally. You will sure get into endgame raiding with those... though I am not sure how much fun you will have leveling and actually playing the game before you get to the end of it.

I have lock and hunter. I play what suits me and what I enjoy. I have a guild that could powerlevel any toon I choose (being a GM helps a bit :p) but I still prefer being independent and soloable.
I havent died on my hunter in last 15 levels. I can kill things way above my level in shortest time. I have pet that looks pretty by my side. I dont need to whine over LFG channel to do some harder quest even if I dont want to bother any guildie to help me. I level like a rocket. And I am having enormous fun on this toon.

So ask yourself why you play actually... to have fun, to please others, or to get to endgame before you even properly started it /shrug
