70 and worriedFollow

#1 Oct 05 2007 at 3:40 PM Rating: Decent
I hit 70 about 2 weeks ago and I'm having a bit of trouble. I don't know if it's my gear or if I just plain suck. But on lvl 70 mobs, I seem to be losing more life than I'd like. And really just not killing stuff fast enough. My crits aren't that high, and my survivability just seems to be in the pitts. This is really the case for pvp and pve. Any tips? Try to be nice..

First thing is I would exchange your MH and OH. It may not amount to much, but I always like the higher DPS in my MH, especially when they are equal speeds. 2nd I would get rid of those pants...they're not suited for you as well as some relatively easy to get quest pants. Same with belt. Try to stray away from gear that's +Str, +Agi, +Stam and veer more towards +Agi, +Stam, +AP (aka ...of the Bandit).

If you're gonna be running 5-mans you should be fine depending on group makeup etc.

Also what mobs are you fighting? Some are easier for Mute-spec than others.

lol trust me, I've been checking AH for new pants and belt almost everday, and I've been very unfortunately out of luck. Yea usually in the 5-man setting I do perfectly fine, always wind up 1st or 2nd on the Dmg Meter (more than likely 2nd due to another DPS class swimming in epics). I guess I can't name any mobs specifically, but generally mobs with high armor or lvl 70 mobs in Netherstorm or SMV. I know Rogues naturally have trobule against high-armored units, but I seem to get trouble from everyone, they are just the biggest threat.

I usually go with a KS < Mut < Kite and Wait for 70-90 Energy (depending if I crit)< Mut < Mut < Evis. Somehow though, this doesn't always leave them dead (which is sad, I admit) and I by the end of the battle I, on average, end up losing ehhh near 1000-1300 life. Is that normal???

1: main hand the infused shiv, offhand the other
2: go to the first zone with a friend, do the quest chain for the Bladefist's Breadth
3: mana tombs/sethekk halls, they drop good rings for ya (longstriders loop from mana tombs end boss, better version of that ring sethekk end boss)
4: try to get a new belt, and new pants (of the bandit at the least... pants of assassination set would be best)
5: 2 set bonus from assassination is a nice thing to grind with, since you get dps bonuses from the stuns you use in every mob fight
6: you dont seem to like enchanting things... but +ap to bracers and +ap to gloves are very cheap.... then +8 stam armor kits for the rest for cheap upgrades, it makes a difference

try to get some of that done and youll see a difference :D

Alrighty yea I'll try all that. And as for enchanting, defiently not opposed to it, I just don't know how much it costs and don't wanna get scammed by paying 100g for something that costs 15. Plus, even thought its far away, epic flying skill is a goal :P. I know enchants vary from server to server, but how much do +agil and +ap enchants cost and how much can they go up to (how much can 1 enchant actually enchant)

enchants:

24 ap to bracers: 12g high, average like 6-8
26 ap to gloves: 16g high, average 8-11
12 agi to cloak: primal air x1 plus some more cheapish mats, can be as high as 50g+ if airs are expensive

8 stam armor kits are prob like 5-10g a pop, i havent had to buy them in a long while

clefthoof leg armor (when u get new pants) can be kinda price, but for 30stam 10agi its not bad... and its the cheapest leg armor (on my server anyways) running 45g-75g

corba hide is generally higher, but 40 ap and 10 crit rating.... runs from 80g-130g id imagine

Oh and one more question. What's a good AP to have with pre-kara gear like I have? Cause mine isn't much, around 1250 I think. My Druid cat form makes my Rogue look like a little girl.

1250 is pretty decent

when i was recruiting my guild rogues i was asking for 150 hit / 20% crit (no weapon specs included) / 1225 ap

so ya ^_^

Alright cool, cause I didn't know if Druid AP was comparable to Rogue AP. Because my Druid has 1660 and his gear isn't all that great. I've heard of some druids with 2800+ AP.
