I'm a bit confused about the latest changes to our Evocation spell.

I hear Evocation has been changed with the latest patch to give 60 percent of mana back. Does this mean my mana regen when using Evocation is not affected by any of my + spirit stats?

It seems weird because I'm sure I was getting more like 80 percent mana back with Evocation before the patch.

My understanding of the changes are that you are correct.

The patch that affects Evocation hasn't gone through yet. 2.3.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. Thought it had already gone through. :-)

This is frustrating. This means that we are destined to hold a group up even longer whilst we sit there drinking.

How will it make the group hold up more? I personally will be getting back more mana than usual (I would normally get around 40-50%, now 60% after 2.3). And I only use it mid-fight (boss fights) so I don't see how it will make any difference whatsoever.

If you're only getting 40-50% back, you don't have a spirit weapon and wand macroed to switch to during evocation. I get more like 70%+ back, and it's a nerf to me and anyone else with spirit sticks.

This is definately a pvp buff, and a raiding nerf. When I have no buffs from raids I get like 40% of my mana back. Which means the new evocation will help if pvp.

Now when I am fully raid buffed I get back around 80% of my mana back, and I know of a lot of mages who get around 90-95% of their mana back. Which now means that all of our equipment with plus spirit is now useless, (mages tier sets and other high end gear). So I dont know what blizzard plans on doing with our gear.

They'll take the spirit off the tier gear and put more useful stats like spell damage or int on!

Wait, they buffed spirit for arcane...

They want us to go arcane!

Wait, they nerfed damage for arcane...
