What knid of flyers are available for BE locks? Is there a summons?
Also, other than looks, how much better is the dreadsteed than the felsteed? And since the ultimate goal is now a flyer, would you spend the effort and resources to get the epic ground mount? Is the xp any greater than other available quests?

There is no class flying mount as of now (except the Druids' flight form). The epic ground mount has a 100% speed increase, the normal 60%, so basically you have 125% of the speed of the normal mount overall.
The dreadsteed is no better than the felsteed in anything other than looks.
The end of the quest chain, however, is fantastic fun, and the XP is great, so I'd recommend doing it. It won't slow down your progress in aiming for a flying mount (as if you're still after XP you can't have it anyway).

Yeah, and, you know, the major speed increase. A Dreadsteed is faster than the normal flying mounts in base grounds speed, btw. The only advantage of the normal flying mounts is avoiding combat and terrain. For getting around quickly the ground mount is actually the better choice.

Only the normal Horde windriders. Faction has no effect on the warlock's mounts. The only class that has a class flying mount, as others have said, is the druid flying form.

40%. Normal mount (felsteed, in our case) is a +60% boost, the epic mount (or Dreadsteed) is a +100% boost.

You need to have the riding skill for the epic ground mount before you can learn the riding skill for the flying mount. So, yeah, it's worth it the effort and resources.

Depends on your level. If you do it right at 60, I imagine the XP's pretty good. If you wait and do it later, like I did at 68, the XP's not so good.
Just do the quest. The quest chain, while a bit spendy, is quite fun, especially the final summoning event. It's a unique, eye-catching mount. Not a lot of people seem to bother doing the epic mount quests anymore, for either warlocks or paladins, and it makes you stand out even more. It says, "I'm willing to put in time and effort to get something that's pretty cool!"

Unless of course, by riding around on the ground you get delayed by combat and terain.

Oops. Apologies. I read all that wrong. I was comparing Dreadsteed to skeletal horsey. Not felsteed. DS is WAY faster than FS.

Man, why didn't I think of that?
Also in the next or new version the new area, we will be on foot again so go for epic ground mount to get around faster.
