Tank GearFollow

Im getting some tank gear together so that I can play that role if needed.
Bearing (excuse the pun) in mind the fact that I'm balance specced. What sort of values should I be looking for in the following;

Normal instances, Heroic, Kara

Please can you let me know what values for Armour, Health, Defence etc I should be aiming at in each catogry.

Example with around 16K and 10K health I easilly tanked the Elite 70 Dragon in Shadowmoon for the Gorefeind Armour quest. (OK prolly no big deal but just using it as an example).

You will need 490 defense to negate crits* as a balance druid and you are likely missing a lot of feral talents that boost damage output. Our threat generation is largely damage based so make sure your guild knows this and uses you as a tank appropriately.

If you are not the only off tank, make sure they down one of the other targets before yours. This will give you time to build plenty of hate. If a raid team of dpsers goes right for your target, they will have to seriously throttle their damage output to keep from pulling aggro.

Also, if you look at emmeralds gear list, use the "mitigation" list instead of the "high mitigation" list. That one focuses more on items with defense.
