Question regarding sweeping strikesFollow

I just dinged my warrior to 36, having visited her trainer learning Whirlwind I am wondering if the following situation would work as I had imagined.
I'm in battle stance and hit sweeping strikes. I switch to zerk stance and hit Whirlwind. Will this work the same way as if I were to use cleave (meaning multiple targets would get hit twice)? If so, let the zerging begin. *evil*

Yep.

It consumes one charge for each doubled attack though (just as Cleave eats two charges), but it's an extremely effective AE strategy.

Looks like I'm gunna need to brew up some rage pots and try that in AB and see how many hordies enjoy the receiving end of my Whirlwind sword...

I remember the good old days of SS and Cleave.
Especially when you get 3 crits out of it, puts a smile on the dial.

I use this all the time in BGs. Thing to remember, if you have more than 4 targets you use up charges on the extra's. Plus, for me anyways, when I do get this off it's usualy because I have 5-6 players on me at once. Meaning I'm likely dead & try to go down with a bang.

...I'm sure some have wondered why all of them moved in & killed me in 30sec or so, then walk away with one almost dead & the rest at 60% health.

"Good old days of SS and cleave" - what has changed recently then ?

I used to pop SS, change to 'zerker, hit cleave, then whirlwind. If you time it right, WW hits each one of 4 targets for damage, 2 of those targets are hit again from SS, and then the next swing hit (cleave, would hit 2 target twice (because if SS).

It's a long time since I've been arms, so I don't know whether all of that would work now (based on the "Good old days" comment). But I can remember easily dropping 3 - 4 targets at once like that ... Awesome sauce ;-)

are you only fighting two mobs?? cause if not that wouldnt work.i could be reading this wrong but if what your saying your getting 2 cleaves to hit with ss and 2 mobs from ww with 2 hits??

if so that cant be right seeing ss is 5 swings so would only be 2 wasted on cleave and 3 wasted on WW. then your second cleave would only hit 2 mobs 1 time each.

normaly if just two mobs i pops SS blood rage cleave hit two white hit x2 cause of ss then cleave again if i got the rage to use the last two charges of SS.

Remember to pop recklessness before sweeping strikes+whirlwind for lots of happy numbers. Just be sure your Fraps is recording so you can replay it back. :D

No, I was thinking of doing something like this when there's a massive midfield brawl and/or brawl at the smith just for the entertainment factor. Would be charge -> bloodrage -> SS -> zerk -> rage pot -> whirlwind -> multiple face melt.

sorry i was quoteing robertlofthouse it looks like he said he pops ss then goes to zerker hits cleave(hits two mobs twice) hits ww (hitting 4 mobs 2 of them twice) then does cleave to hit two more mobs twice but the onlything is is if does it in that order he really would hit 2 mobs with cleave 2 times then would hit 4 mobs with ww 3 of wich are 2 times then his cleave would hit 2 mobs 1 time. unless i'm missing something here's the quote again
