Enhancement healing capabilities...Follow

Seems like an odd thought right? But here's my question. I honestly enjoy healing instances...but pve/pvp I enjoy playing enhancement a lot more. My questions is...before 70, in the outlands, could I still reasonably heal w/ enhancement spec as long as I have the appropriate +heal and intel gear? any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

By the by...I'm 57 atm.

Good news, Yes you can... but, you will need a dedicated healing kit and imo it's worth 21 points in resto for NS if you intend to main heal instances.

If you wanna heal, just respec, otherwise play your enhancement shammy as an enhancement shammy.

The torture of trying to main heal with an off spec scares the crap out of me. And the money/effort you would put into getting appropriate gear is not worth it at all if In the end you plan on sticking with enhancement.

Thats my opinion only, but shamans are not the most perfect healers when specced properly, when not specced properly we have problems main healing at 70.

Totally unnecessary while leveling. Pre 70 an enhancement shaman can heal instances just fine (and even a lot of 70 instances, but not heroics of course) there is no need to respec for the occasional healing run.

It only scares you because (iirc) you leveled mainly resto so got very used to all the benefits of the resto tree, it's really not that hard if you have the gear... and the gear is not hard to get, don't buy any, just keep good resto quest rewards and drops. The best bit about drops is that you will have virtually no competition for them unless you are running with a resto shammy as well (or maybe a holy pally).

Even if you do plan on sticking enhancement you should ALWAYS have a resto kit just in case you need it.

The OP specifically asked about PRE-70.

Pre-70, with a dedicated healing kit you can definately heal.
at lvl 70 you need to respec resto to keep healing properly (harder 70 5-mans, heroics and on)

I already have the healing set due to having a 70 hunter that i saved drops on so I'm set. Thank you for the tips, I'm happy i'll be able to stay enhancement up to 70. I fully intend on switching to full healing once I hit 70 and am excited to start healing endgame. I miss kara =) and now being a healer I'll actually be needed, instead of "sure I guess we can take a hunter" lol.

I've ended up healing pretty much every instance I get to on my Enhance shammy, and it works just fine. Honestly have never had anyone complain about my healing...but I do have a pretty decent healing set, so..*shrugs*
