Dreadsteed questionsFollow

Alright, so I finished the every possible quest given out in relation to summoning the Dreadsteed except those dealing with the three items to create: The Bell of Dethmoora; Doomsday Candle; Wheel of the Black March.

The problem is that I already have a level 70 warlock who has the "mats".

Has there been some change to the quest I don't know of? How am I supposed to get the dreadsteed quest... do I just need to finish these three things myself? But then wouldn't I have my own mats?

You MUST do the quests ANYWAYS. The only thing is that if you know a lock who has the mats he can do the ritual for you, the dreadsteed will be summoned and you will be credited the quest.
But the mats are soulbound and you can't therefore transfer them from your main to you, and you can't play both on your main and your alt in the same time. So you need to do it all.

Thanks - another lock in-game told me the same: simply that my friend was confused about what mats are needed in the quest chains.

Okay, there have been errors in the guide (posted on this site).

1) Apparently you only need 3 (not 35) black dragon scales...

2) But do you need 2 (or 10) elixirs of shadow power?

Dreadsteed q was the longest and hardest quest I did so far,but its imba looks make for it :D

Anyway ,that guide is pretty much all you have to follow,I do think some minor changes have been made (3 dragon scales as you said, maybe something else not sure...)

Yeah - changes need to be made:

Needed:

6 Large brilliant shards
25 fel iron ores

2 elixers of shadow power

3 black dragonscales

Changes HAVE been made. When I did it, it was 10 Elixir of Shadow Power and 35 Black Dragonscales, all of which I farmed myself (took something like a week to get enough Ghost Mushrooms, since they only spawn in instances and in Skull Rock in Hinterlands); also, according to WoWWiki, the Arcanite Bar has been dropped from three to one.

Oh, btw, it requires _DARK_ iron ore, not Fel... Fel iron didn't even exist when this quest was put into the game...

So, yeah, don't complain about the requirements when it's been dropped by something like 40%... Plus, with the way money practically throws itself at you in Outlands, the cost here is rather negligible anyway...

It may be now, but when I started on my quests (from 58-65, couldnt find much help for Scholo and DM sooner) the cost raised to some 750g, not so negligible even for someone running in OL for few levels already.

I meant, as opposed to trying to raise the 750g in Azeroth, before Burning Crusade. I didn't get a chance to do the last couple legs of the quest until I was 68; by the time I did it, I'd recouped the expense a couple times over just with normal questing and auctioning herbs/knothide leather/dropped greens...

and it's only 1 arcanite bar too.

Rykhorne -

I'm not complaining, so learn to read.

It's dark iron ore, not fel iron (my mistake).

And the requirement has been dropped to 1 arcanite bar.

Depending on your server, the mats can still be quite difficult and/or costly - much easier if you're in a large guild with varied professions.

Oh and again, READ: I wasn't referring to changes that needed to be made in WoW - but the guides regarding the dreadsteed quest chain.

The new mats shouldn't take more than a day or two to collect between the AH and the trade channel and won't cost you more than 150 or so G. That is NOT "costly" by any stretch of the imagination for a level 60 character.

What trainer do I go to to start the Dreadsteed quests? I can't find it or the trainer's name.

Excluding the reusable mats, I spent around 225 for everything (including the stardust) which isn't a *big* cost - except that I'm tailoring/enchant, which is a huge money drain in and of itself. I've been able to maintain myself through AH items and Out. quests. Maybe I'm just stingy - after you get your epic flying, a few hundred gold is worthless :S
