Ok I know this is a problem that only I, and not you, can solve but I would appreciate any help. I am grinding gold for my swift flight form and I reached 2000 g in a week, which makes me feel I'm not far enough from reaching my goal.

And then it happened! I was browsing the AH when I noticed that somebody was auctioning Stuff of Natural Fury. This stuff is the stuff I chose to be my end-game weapon. I'm in love with it. And now it's there! And I have the money to buy it. But after that I have nothing. I start from 0. To reach 5000!

I thought that picking your favorite weapon now that I have tha chance is tha wisest thing to do since wow is a pvp/pve game, not a travel game. Besides I DO have a way to travel along the realm by using the griphon taxis so it's not lika I NEED swift flight form. On the other hand, I thought that beeing able to fly swiftly arround outlands would help me complete quests faster, travel from grind point to grind point or cities faster, grind faster, collect faster, basically make money faster. That makes me think that it will be easier to collect 2000 g from nothing after I get sff.

So... what say you wise druids? What would you do if you were me?

p.s. sorry for the spelling

Get the weapon. Your epic flight form will still be waiting for you after you got your Staff, but your Staff may not be there after your epic flight form. =)

That's a great staff, consider yourself lucky to find it, buy it without blinking, it will increase your dps a lot and with it your grinding aka getting money speed.

Much as I enjoy flying around and would love to do it at epic mount speeds, get the weapon.

agreed with all of the above, if you got 2000 in a week, with that staff you will be able to get 2000 even faster. Buy it buy it buy it.

Buy it and send it to me!

As was pointed out, you may never get the staff again, when you have the golds on you to buy it.

I personally like terestian's stranglestaff for dps myself. But then not everyone raids, and of those who do, many groups skip this "side" boss in Kara.

Thanks to everybody for the advice. I got the stuff finally! No regrets. It's a great stuff with only one minus... I guess I never noticed the 'base' word in that shapeshifting cost description. I thought that basically every switch was going to be 200mp cheaper but the description says 'reduses the base mana cost of your shapshifting spells by 200'. Well cat-form for example cost 580 without the stuff. It now costs 440 (defenately not a 200 mp reduction). I don't know what that 'base cost' really means and how the final cost is actually calculated. Whatever... I can't ask for more. Thanks again!

It's quite simple actually, well, simple if you have Natural Shapeshifter(3/3) talent. If you do, then the 200 mana reduction is calculated before the 30%, so in reality you only get 200*0.7(IE 70% of 200) mana reduction, which is, the 140 you stated.

Well this sucks... Makes me wonder if the 3 points spent on this talent are worth it now.

How does this suck then?! IT'S GRAND! If an item is an upgrade for you AND frees you 3 talent points GREAT for you. Get Nature's Grasp, or improve it, or Thick Hide, or Intensity, or... Dunno, these are your 3 talent poins :)
You can just keep them in there and have almost free shapeshifts as well of course.

Look at the bright side. It's not as good as a flat -200 mana on all shapeshifts, but it's amazing just as it is.

Yeah, I didn't take Natural Shapeshifter; I don't pvp enough to require the efficiency. =p

What about the merc gladiator's maul? I was under the impression it was the best cat form dps weapon available.

Good job on getting the staff; I did the same thing a few weeks back. Bought the staff (1400) and a 35 agility enchant (200), and then worked up 4000g to get to my flying skill; now I just need 150 more gold to get my mount, and I'll be zipping around Outlands :D

It also costs almost 4k arena points.

Edit: Though from looking at the calculation chart, if you have all 3 teams even if you only maintain a 1500 rating you'll be getting about 1k/week, so it's not so bad I suppose.

I should look into some of that arena stuff when I hit 70...

I know, but the best feral dps weapon in the game shouldn't be easy to get :P

You don't get points from all 3 of your arena teams. You only get the points from the team that would get you the most points for that week, so there's no way you'll get 1k per week. With a 1500 rating on a 5v5 team you're still looking at 11-12 weeks to get that weapon.

I never said that this is considered the best feral stuff in the game. I know there are better dps weapons (especially hammers) still there are some items that you love at first sight ;)

I do shapeshift a lot not necessarily because I pvp. I just like learning to be us versatile us possible. I know this is a role that serious instand and raid groups don't like but I do play a lot with close friends and relatives and they are ok with this (actually they apreciate it when I dps, shift to throw a couple of heals or root or tank to pull agro until the main tank bandages when I or the healer are oom)

Many times me and my bro (def warrior) took out bosses meant for groups of 3 even 5, because I'm dd healer and imergency-tank. If I was just healing or dd or tanking, killing them would be plainly impossible

That's why I like this class so much. I can understand that a specifically speced and equiped druid can be a wondrous dd, tank, or healer, but it's just not my kind of play so I preffer being moderate in many roles.

I am going to hit the arena soon for that gladiator set and maybe I even try for that maul but that is going to take some time and this stuff I bought is going to do just fine until then :)

The staff. On another note though, how did you get 2000g in one week? That's impressive.

Well thanks :)

Never cared about my economics... just xp-ing. So EVERY drop since I started was sent to other 'bank-avatars'. When I hit 70 a friend dissenchanted the big majority of them, and I started selling every item/component/herb that was rotting in a bank for months. I was gaining like 200 g from AH daily and at the same time I was quest greending with my main (11 g per quest is not bad at all)
