Getting my mic to work w/ vent voice chatFollow

I cannot get my mics to work. in vent all i get is static when i try to talk. and all i hear though my headphones is static. My audio is fine trhough my speakers, just my mics/headsets. The voice test worked when i tried it out erlier today, but when ilogged back on, my 2v2 partner couldn't hear me, and then the static/noise started again. (the noise ocmes through my headset perpetually, whether i'm talking or not). I have 2, so its not the headset thats teh problem.

Any solutions? hell, anyone even know what the problem is to begin with? I ask here, simply because i know that the threads here get a lot of traffic.
