So I'm trying a new spec...Follow

I've been combat swords for the end of my pve career and beginning of my lvl 70 pvp career. It rocks in PVE and PVP isn't bad but I'm not very good with it yet. I asssume that most of it has to do with the fact that my "I win" mode requires me to hit two key (blades furry and adrenalin rush), which usually wastes like 2 seconds of my time and attention when I should precisely focus on the fight. There might be better ways to do it, but I haven't figure it out yet.

My current stuff isn't great, but it isn't pathetic either. I'm doing reasonably well but not great. Here's my armory link:http://armory.wow-europe.com./character-sheet.xml?r=Cho%27gall&n=Ayen

I'm actually thinking that this build might be great at higher levels of pvp (i.e. against opponents with more resilience), provided of course I get the arena maces instead of my current swords.

But for now... I think that Mut will serve me better, so I'll revert to my cookie cutter 41/20/00 (lol at the poster trying to advocate that 41/00/20 is better) and see how it works. So I'm pretty happy that I picked engineering and not BS, since it remains useful despite my weapon change. I mean, the only really useful item are the googles since other cool items can't be used in the arena. But still, it's a nice helm that actually helps stealth detection (and somehow makes up for the lack of Subtlety tree).

Shame!

alt+mouse up = ar
alt+mouse down = bf

See my post on keybinding hiding out on the front page somewhere.

Yeah, I've seen your message although not read it really due to lack of time. I assume that my current setup isn't that bad. My left hand rests on the keys used to move around (+ mouse to turn), around those base left hand keys are 14 shortcuts to my action bar to include the most often used talents/skills, and I'm using 4 buttons on my mouse + the wheel-clik as 5th button.

Using the wheel with ALT sounds like a good idea though, I'll try it.

Thanks for remininding me about your post, I'll have a look at it to see if some of your suggestions can be helpful to me.

P.S. On low -1600 rating arena muti works even better than combat because people not wear much resilence gear and burst damage still can kill :)

Yeah, I was just dueling outside Org and a 1400-rated rogue had the balls to tell me he was the better rogue because he beat me 2/4 duels.

Not like I could help that he got every opener, he was sub! Smiley: tongue

But to answer your question, you want a fast OH dagger in PvP to apply cripping poison quickly, especially after it gets cleansed.

BTW, one duel lasted under 10 secs. CS, Mut, KS, CB-Mut, dead.

Out of curiosity. How hard are your average mut's hitting when they don't crit and when it crits?

I don't know if anyone has touched on this, but from what I know, 2 points in endurance is a must.

This is just from looking Neilyo's build and assuming that if you can last long enough in an arena, another chance to break snares is completely worth 2 talent points.

Don't know about that. I have it in my build cause I don't think that Imp SnD is great for me in PvP whereas a shorter timer on Sprint and Evade can never hurt, as you say, if you can last long enough.

I'd LOVE to have Imp Kick though, but I can't since I need 5/5 DW. Life is made of tough choices ;)

Only if you run with a healer. But if you do, then yes it is worth the 2 points.

Hm, I think most are in the 1k range on non-crits, most are in the 3k range on crits.

Give or take a few hundred because I'm **** at math.

Get MutilateCrit.

Does the math for you and throws it on the screen.

It was buggy the last time I was using it, tbh. Was adding up my mutilates wrong.

Hmmm. Shame. Was planning on using this once I switch. :(

Not to drag a dead horse back into the argument or anything, but 41/0/20 does have some merit in 2v2. While the sustained damage output of prec/dw does make 41/20/0 the better build for 3v3 and 5v5, if all you're able to play is 2v2 (like me), the points in camo and dirty tricks make getting that crucial sap trivially easy. I can honestly say that forcing an early trinket has won me many matches. Something to think about, anyways.

Right, I don't think anybody would argue the viability of 41/0/20 in 2v2 - but the majority of this discussion so far has centered around the 5v5's.

ONLY in double dps 2v2 would this be even remotely viable.

And even then, I would still go 20 combat for the damage and snare break.

Look at the top 2v2 rogues. There might be one that is mut/sub, but other than that they will all be mut/combat.

Sap is not crucial at all, ever.

Anyway, I'm loving the spec. I got up to 1650 today, until I ran into 6 consecutive SL/SL lock/druid, warrior/druid, spriest/mage combos.

Ouch is all I have to say for those teams.

They outgeared us pretty badly, too.

But I can now 1v1 a warrior and win most of the time.

Yeah, I know.

I think I play better as mut because I'm more patient, waiting for energy and such.

You're not suggesting Theophany is a noob are you?

I mean, nobody in their right mind would suggest that.

Right?

Say it ain't so, Theo.

Although you'll disagree, I tend to put points in imp evis. That's a matter of preference though. Even though you'll only use it when you've got no other options up, it's still nice to have it do just a bit more damage each time.

And in kara with 90% of the stuff there immune to bleeds, it happens alot. I won't waste rupture on trash either since the stuff dies in like 5 seconds.

I don't do Kara anymore unless I get brought in for a specific boss or they need to clear the entire thing in under four hours, since most of our DPS kinda suck.

I'd probably have them pay for my respec to maces and back to mut if they wanted me for an entire run, though.

For any rogue u NEED 5 points in oppurtunity. ESPECIALLY for a mut rogue..your mut will do 20% more damage but what everyone likes 20% more damage.
