Here's my armoury: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Lethon&n=Mannerism

At posting this it shows I'm still 60, but I've dinged 61. Anyway, I've got2 talent points I don't know what to do with. I never used Amplify curse when I had it previously, and I doubt I'd use CoExhaust either.

I'm thinking of sticking it into imp HS, but then I still can't see anything I want to stick future talent points anywhere either. Anyone able to give some suggestions?

Well, Imp. Imp is a must, assuming as an Affliction 'lock you use that most of the time, as is Demonic Embrace foer the improved stam (a nice source of mana, don't forget).

By the time you hit 70, you can also get Fel Intellect, allowing you to use your imp as a source of mana via Dark Pact more effectively.

Of course, you may prefer putting your points in Destro, in which case, as you have 2 in Nightfall, you may as well put them in Imp. SB. What you'd do with your additional points in that tree as you level up further though, I have no idea.

IMO, 50 points in affliction for soloing is to many. I think 5/5 in suppression is a bit of overkill. Maybe take 2-3 points from there. Also 5/5 Shadow's Embrace while very nice on raid bosses is pretty negligeble while soloing. Take 4 points out of there.

That will leave you with ~43/44 points in affliction and 8-9 points to spend elsewhere.

Imp. imp is very nice as is Demonic Embrace. you can put the points there for increased survivability. OR you can put the points in Imp. SB and Bane for increased dps. I would personally go for the points in Demo until you get to 70 when you can get better gear and can respec for raiding/pvp/solo-pve as necessary.

Hope this helps :)

I usually use my Void instead, as I find both when soloing, playing with my GF or in a 5 man, the thing just runs out of mana too fast. Plus it's usually easy to dot something up, have voidy tank and mayby health funnel every 2-3 mobs just to top him back up.

I might just go with Demonic embrace and maybe Fel Intelect a little later?

And don't include anything to do with raiding, as most likely I won't be doing any. Timezones and a lack of a decent guild ftl.

I believe Inoperante assumed that being down the affliction tree you were drain tanking. Normally for drain-tanking you would have your imp out and on passive, basically there so you could get the blood pact buff and drain his mana via dark pact. And by keeping him on passive he is always regenerating mana at a nice pace for you to use, but when the imp is actually fighting he goes through mana like no ones biz.

I believe your drain-hunting, in which case I would go down the demonology tree., Demonic Embrace and to help your VW out you might wanna get some points into imp VW, imp health funnel and maybe fel stamina. After all the longer the VW can take a beating the better off you are.

I also agree with AnotherSquirrel, take 2 or 3 out of suppresion and 4 out of shadow embrace. These can be better used in another tree to get farther down to the good stuff.

Have to agree with the above posters. Also I'd like to add that Imp CoA is kind of an iffy talent. A lot of people like it, but unless CoA is always running it's full course, I do not feel it is worth it. Since the damage is all backloaded, you only seeing the bonus on the ticks that don't do much damage. It is still an increase, and on bosses in Instances it's a big difference, but I use CoD, CoS or CoE on bosses anyway, so personally, I do not feel that the points are worth it. If you do use CoA on bosses, and do notice that it gets to those last big ticks frequently, go for it.

If you don't like the Demo stuff, you can get Imp SB and Bane from Destro. Both are great DPS boosters on boosters on Bosses. Shadow Bolts are a huge source of damage there. As long as you keep you main DoTs refreshed and SB in-between. Those SB crits raise the damage of all your DoTs and your next SBs. If you have another lock or a shadow priest DPSing, it raises thier damage as well. If you PvP alot, you could also stick a point into Shadowburn for some burst damage. Great for finishing things off too.
