Hello out there !

I saw a similiar post on the warrior-forums and i just wanted your opnion for priests (healer priests ofc).

For myself i´m sitting at about +1150 heal, roughly 130 mp/5 and 10k mana (unbuffed). I collected all heroic keys and i got 2 primal mooncloth parts.

Would you consider that as ready for heroics ?

I only cleard UB and SP in heroic mode, i found them difficult but not that much. I tried some other heriocs too, like Mech, BF but i notice there too often that my tanks go down. Mostly im forced to spam flashheals and even that, doesnt seem to be enough sometimes.

The problem is just i dont know if its me or a bad tank as i have no clue for tank equipp.

Well, anyway. When did you join heroics what do you think about requirement.

Btw, spamming flashheals is less HPS (healing per second) then spamming greater heals, assuming youre holy specced.

Youre gear looks good enough for heriocs.

I hope you are also utilizing your instant casts. Lead with PoM and use it whenever you can. Keep renew up on the tank once he has agro. Keep rotating these as needed with your other heals.

if you're holy spec with those stats, you are ready.

your problem is likely do to an off-spec tank wearing tanking gear, or lazy dps who draw out the fights or are slow on crowd control.

Never cast flash heal >.> Or hardly ever. Lower efficiency and lower health/sec than Gheal. Lots of renew and PoM.

Keep in mind a few fights are exceedingly difficult. The main one that comes to mind is the first boss of Mana-Tombs, that guy's a nightmare.

Yes i know !! :)

I wrote that i am forced to use them not that i want to do them. I always start with a PoM and i always keep Renew up. There were a few times where i start to cast my Gheal and the tank got down in the two, three hits till its finished.

Bog Lords are a nightmare, and i seem to have to cast FH there to keep up the tank.

Also.. the Arcane whatever in Mechanar or Arcatraz... :)

Well, I think we are ready for heroics when we hit 70 and get mooncloth and whitemend sets. Possibly enchant head, legs and weapon with healing enchants.
Yes, it costs some gold, but it is nothing compared to the epic mount costs, and is infinitely easier than it was to get the epic leather set for my rogue (needed 3 nethers, took me more than 10 successful(!) heroics runs...)

With the above accomplished, my priest has now +1500 healing and 165mp5 (not too much stamina though, which makes me pair the epics with green 'of physician' items - quite an amusing combination).

So far I made a few Mechanar runs - they are by far the easiests (and you get epic shoes there). Only problem with healing on the sentries when they enable charged fist - it is true that spamming flash heals is just not enough to keep the tank up - one has to spam g-heals, and that requires the tank to has some stamina to last for the heal to land.

To go to the more difficult heroics one probably needs just a bit of training. The gear does not really get that much better. But in truth, I am not really sure there is any point in going to other heroics any more - the attunement quests are obsolete now, the difficulty is insane, and the loot is crap compared to Karazhan (which is far easier than Shattered Halls for example). So I am going to grind badges (and reputation for the epic mace) in Mechanar, and I am not really compelled to do anything more. Maybe just out of boredom (and for reputation) I will visit the easier ones, but that's it.
