Epic MountFollow

#1 Sep 29 2007 at 7:03 AM Rating: Decent
Having got a Warlock as well as a Pally I have the pleasure of two epic mount chains to do.

Over recent months the Warlock requirements have fallen at a huge rate, the scale of which really is unbelievable. Even Warlock Den cannot keep up and is for the second time in 2 patches well behind.

Does anyone know if a simular move is due to happen to the Pally epic quest to bring it inline with the Warlock one, or has the gap just done another jump ?

As far as I know, Blizzard has no plans to change the pally quest - at least not before the next big patch. So you can either get started on chasing that golden charger down or just save yourself a lot of time and hassle by buying a normal epic mount.

I did the quest, and it was a SERIOUS pain in the *** to find groups for all the old-world instances. I ended up doing it with 4 other pallies, and we had to run Strat 6 times to get that accursed holy water because of the drop rate. I was soooo close to just chucking the whole thing...but I didn't and I'm glad I stuck to it, because I think the pally epic mount is the coolest looking mount in the whole game - with the possible exception of the armoured netherdrake. And the suffering just made it that much better when I finally got my gold-radiating horsie.

It's still complete BS though. That quest seriously needs an update.

I totally agree that the pally epic quest needs to be updated for the expansion since nobody runs scholo, strat or even dire maul. Blizzard definitely needs to re-think the dungeons that you have to do to get your epic mount. Make it a little easier on new pallies and put the 2 dungeons you need to run in outlands so that groups aren't next to impossible to pull together. I also hated doing the quests but didn't want to give up because it's a sweet mount. It took me at 70 with a 63 pally, 60 warrior only 2 runs to get the water we needed but it took myself at 70, my 63 pally friend, a 70 lock, 59 warrior and 58 shaman 2 runs in scholo to finally get our mounts..huge huge hassle, but still worth it to have the sweet mount.

2-3 lvl 70 friends and you can get the scholo part done in under an hour.

Or if it is too much of a pain the reduced cost of regular epic mounts only makes it about 100g more expensive to get, with no questing or dungeon running involved.

I think it's well worth doing the quest tbh. The mount looks good and the quests will keep you entertained for now as we all know 70 is boring! lol

I'm on Eonar and am more than happy to help out any Pally that needs to do this.

70 is only boring if you don't know what you are doing, tbh.

Arena, dailies, crafting, and perhaps the most stellar raid content in any game in the last 12 years of MMO gaming. There is so much end game progression that it boggles the mind. Some people just do 5 man non heroics and get blue gear and think they have won the game, which is pretty embarrassing, Smiley: tongue
