I seem unable to beat many BE mages they nuke me then silence me faster than i can get 1 spell off? any suggestions? PVP obviously.
Spec? Level?
If you are crafty, you might be able to have them silence you right after you get an Ice Barrier/Block up, so that way you can take some punishment before it (silence) wears off. Then it'd just be a straight up fight.
If you can't....oh well. Haven't had too much experience dueling a Belf to really notice how much of an issue it would be. Come to think of it, it hasn't happened once to me, even against Belf Mages. They probably just forget they have the talent...

Additionally, if it's that big a deal, you can Ice Block out of silence effects.
i'm a fire mage in a pvp realm, Sasper , i know not the best for pvp, oh and i havent been able to setup the macros right yet, just got to 70 1st character.
ive never been silenced by a be mage, rogue yes. mage no, there is no point for you to let him get any closer than 25 yards (with pvp gloves) so i really dont see how your getting silenced.
you'll find at 70 any pvp reward gloves give you an extra 5 yards on fireblast
BE's silence is useless for a mage unless fighting a paladin/shaman. When do you ever get close enough to use it?
