I searched the forums, didn't get much for this...
OK, my shammy is about to ding 58. He's draenei so he's automatically allied w/ the Aldor, but I can always switch if need be. I'm planning on staying enhancement for a while, I absolutely love it; I may go resto at 70, but I'm not too excited for that. My professions are skinning (negligible for this topic obviously) and Enchanting. I know Scryers have the Master Enchanter whereas Aldor don't...
So, my question is which should I take, for an enhancement shaman w/ enchanting as his profession.
Any help/advice would be appreciated! =)
PS: I checked the wowwiki article, and it was meagre at best. It only mentioned ele shamans, and wasn't very in depth.

There are two other master enchanters, one in Honor Hold and one in Netherstorm so that is irrelevant to your decision.
Just look at the rewards and choose for yourself based on the spec you think you will be at 70 and your trade skill.

bump. I was going to make a thread on this (was hoping someone else would :)) as I didn't find much info in the faq stickie thread.
I want to do end game healing (though I'm starting to get bored of the game, and not sure if that will happen- I hate end game grinding).
At first glance scryers seemed better for healing, but someone said aldor are better for healers. which is it? they said aldor had a healing shoulder enchant, but so does scryer.
edit: ahh I see the above link puts them side by side. I see where I made my mistake. The website I looked at before didn't have them side by side, so I didn't realize the numerical difference. one is spell damage and healing, the other is pure healing.
I already chose scryer, but haven't done any quests. Though I think I got some spillover rep from something. I think I have about 300 rep into friendly with scryers. wonder how hard it will be to switch over.
edit2: ahh I forgot about the alchemist recipe another reason I chose scryer. this is a tough decision for a healer/alchemist. And I like that healing staff scyers have. this decision is torturous.

It is a tricky choice for a healer I think..
Both shoulder enchants are good in their own ways:
(Aldor +33heal - 4 mana/5) vs Scryer (+22 heal - 6 mana/5)
This was the trickiest bit for me really .. I ended up Aldor as the mana/5 wasn't going to be an issue.
The staff I wouldn't worry about to much as comparable ones will drop in both Steamvaults and Black Morass.

There are also a good variety of 1handed daggers/maces and offhands/shields which drop in the 70 instances which you may prefer over a staff anyway...
The thing I didn't consider on my first 70 was the quest rewards, they both have some decent gear on offer... definitely worth a look.. (clicky below)

- Aldor has an elemental staff (blue), an enhancement ring and a healing necklace (epic, also decent for elemental)
- Healing, AP or Damage focused shoulder enchants.
( - Fire resistance crafted gear (TL+LW+BS), +heal leg enchant recipe (tailor), +8 Defense armor kit (LW), blue shadow protection necklace (JC) )
vs
- Scryer has a Healing staff (blue), elemental trinket (blue) and elemental ring (epic)
- Mp5, crit rating and spellcrit focused shoulder enchants
( - Arcane resist crafted gear (TL+LW+BS), Elixer of major firepower recipe (alch), +dmg leg enchant recipe (tailor), 3Mp5 armor kit (LW), blue nature protection necklace (JC) )
The only crafted thing that will actually matter is the alch recipe because all the other stuff has an equal at the other faction.
