Just wait, 69 is a real *****. You can feel every single point of xp and how little it fills the bar. Its a glorious combination of pain and awesome. Then you hit 70 and go *********** I've been leveling for a whole long time. What the hell do I even do now?"

Don't worry, I have faith in you.

Man, 69 was actually a pretty fast level for me. I hit 70 grinding Earth Elementals for Motes of Earth in Nagrand and I dinged, amassed with shock and awe. I did 60-70 in a week of non-stop rushing, I just got really lucky on getting good equip along the way. If you ever get tired of grinding XP, just remember, it's almost over...for that toon. Then you get to grind rep.

Make sure to manage your money so you can get your flying mount the second you hit 70. It's really not difficult with all the quests available.

This is a great idea.

Grinding isn't going to stop at 70. There's a lot of rep to grind. Sha'tar, Cenarion, Lower City, CoT, Thrallmar, Aldor or Scryer, farming for mats if you're a crafter, etc.

If I could do it over, I wouldn't waste my time grinding or doing quests. I would just do instances, (Guild or PuG) and farm for mats/aldor or scryer rep when not in an instance.

At 70, the quests will be easier, you'll be able to do some of the elite quests solo, and this will give you a bigger return on your time in the way of gold. You'll have more time to work on Netherwing and Sha'tari Skyguard/Ogri'la rep also (for epic mount, the dailys are an important part of your cash generation). It's possible to achieve revered in the lower 5mans before getting to 70. You'll be better equipped from 5man drops, rep rewards, and recipes.

If you PvP at all, my suggestion would be to do your BG's to get your Veteran's gear before you hit 70. There is a world of difference between the 60-69 BG's and the 70 BGs.

That way you can BG while you're getting rest xp, and can actually level that much faster.

If you think 65-70 is bad, how do you think I feel at 54? I still have at least 4 more levels before I can even hit Outlands. And I'm crazy enough to consider staying in Azeroth to 59 for financial reasons, meaning if I go to Outlands later I have more quests to do at 70 for money.

I know this probably isn't how you roll, but picking up 2 swords from quests and going combat swords is much, MUCH faster than combat/sub for leveing. You probably already tried it and didn't like it, just reminding you it's a better leveling option.

IMO you should save all your marks and honor points until you hit 70. Buying something early means there's a chance that a future patch will upgrade that purchase, which you could've waited til 70 and the new patch and better item. Since you can't even use it pre-70, there's no downside to saving points.

From 69-70 I grinded nothing but one type of mob in Netherstorm that has <1% drop chance on an epic sword. Didn't happen though, every kill I would be like, c'mon this is the one!! Smiley: cry

Actually the reason i said leveling is the best in a instance is because
1. u get loot.
2. very good xp/time played
3. reputation>>> if u play each instance to let's say revered...and at lvl 70 u do the quests that will put u in/near exalted. At revered u get anyway the heroic keys which is quite a big plus--sp heroic is so easy to do and has EXCELLENT rogue loots. And there are the enchants---like the head enchant at cenarion which are also needed later. Ah and the spirit shards at Alerian stronghold which can get u soe decent gear.

Also i have to say that it works well if u have a group of friends when doing this....if u loose time with PUG's it will be faster to level from quests.

I'm just going to lower my head and plow through quests, killing everything along the way. It should be easier with the help of the light-headed mod and tom tom. I would do more instances, but I don't have a group that I can use consistently. My guildies are all already into heroics, so a regular Slave Pens run doesn't have much to offer them. PUG'ing instances will just make me hate the game entirely.

I like the idea of running BG's while I build up rested, but considering it takes a week and a half to build up full rested - I would be stuck in arathi basin for months. I suspect this would be much slower than just biting the bullet.

I'll be farming my ab and wsg marks at 69.

I actually did respec swords for two seconds, then checked the auction house for what I could pick up. Basically, nothing. I had already completed all the quests in hellfire, zang, and most of terokkar, so it was too late to grab one of those quest reward swords. I had a guildy craft a decent 1.7 OH sword but until I come across a decent MH I'm stuck being muti. I ran an advanced item search for swords and the response, for the moment, is "outlook not so good."

I don't mind very much though, I enjoy being muti. I can hang in there for another level or two.

I am a PvP'er at heart so grinding rep and other such nonsense is of secondary concern. All I want to do is hit seventy, grab my honor rewards, then start cutting off faces in the arena.

So I think the timing for 2.3 (if speculation is correct and it comes out around november) will be just about perfect for me. I should have dinged 70 by then and have accumulated enough honor to grab a few pieces of S1.

Anyway...I'm surprised my little QQ post got 15 or so responses. Thanks to those all trying to pitch in advice. To the rest of you still leveling, keep yer noses te the grindstone.
